Don’t be surprised if America Magazine, which is associated with a papal advisor, happens to do a muck taking analysis of Legatus. It won’t be neutral. These people play hardball.

They will get written up as a mix of Westboro Baptist and the Mafia.

I was curious how much this is in the grand scheme. According to the CIA fact book Vatican expenditures in 2013 were $348 million .

(Umm…why does the CIA print a “Factbook”?)

Even if the Vatican has over $300 M in expenses, the vast majority of its budget is likely already pre committed. This 1 M might have been a big share of the discretionary funds.

The big question is whether the K of C would do this. My guess is probably not at this point, but if the Vatican is seen as delaying a much longer time, say a year, who knows.

They have a Factbook on everything, including you and me. It’s to make us safe and promote democracy of course. The actual Factbook is probably the only useful contribution to humanity they make.

The world factbook is a thing. I used to use it for projects like 10 years ago.

Since Amazon is scheduled to take over most CIA functions in 2019, they will likely assume responsibility for humanity’s Factbook.

Other factbooks will also be permitted for humanity. For awhile.

The Knights would NEVER do this.

They are loyal to the Holy Father.

I like Legatus. They can channel their donations to whatever good thing they wish.

Don’t agree with keeping the money in escrow though.

Let it do good as immediately as possible.

Help as directly as possible without just passing monies on to people who might also delay stewardship in THEIR escrow accounts.

There are homeless people, California wildfire victims, hurricane victims right here in the USA.

Share those blessings Legatus. 😊

It is prudent to attach accountability to $ recipients too. ✝️

If there is a network of persons in high places undermining Catholic teaching, and exercising too much influence on the bishop
selection process, and alleged coverups, then it weakens the position of the Holy See itself.

I don’t blame Pope Francis for causing this, since the alleged network apparently predated him. But he is the pope now. It is not disloyal for Legatus to ask the pope to respond. He may be unaware of the damage the delay is causing in the USA.

I was trying to point out that the Pope is infallible in matters of faith and morals, but he is not impeccable. An attitude that the Pope can do no wrong or that people who consider withdrawing contributions to the Vatican are disloyal to the Pope may be edging too close to papolatry
