Legislator Attacks Pro-Life Women as “Men With Breasts”

Harrisburg, PA – Pennsylvania State Rep. Babette Josephs, a Philadelphia Democrat, may have reached a new low in political discourse on the issues of abortion. Upset that pro-life women in the state legislature support a bill allowing women a chance to see an ultrasound of their unborn child before an abortion, she referred to them as “men with breasts.”

It drives the pro-aborts bananas to see that the majority of pro-lifers are women. It scares them. So, no surprise here.

It is just amazing to me how cruel and nasty the opponents to life are.

Other slogans of the pro-abortionists are, “If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament,” and “The prohibition of abortion discriminates against women.” Are you aware that the pro-abortionists took this line of argument to the Supreme Court and lost? It is the pro-abortion forces that have framed abortion as a “woman’s issue.” Women, as a class, are not discriminated against by the pro-life movement. I am a human being, and as a man I have the right to stand up and say “no” to the killing of my fellow human beings.

Where’s Seinfeld’s Kramer when you need him? He could sell all those legislators a “bro!”

(You had to see the episode…)

Once again the left proves it’s all for diversity and tolernace…just as long as you agree with them.

I’ve mentioned before that modern leftism cannot recognize as binding any form of self-identity which is not chosen, because it fetishizes the freedom of the human will above all other things and thus experiences even things like sex and socioeconomic status as unjust infringements of the sovereign will.

So the things it can’t change (such as SES), it has to recast in terms that can be changed. So “woman” becomes not a biological, unchangeable brute fact, but something associated with ideological identity. No such thing as femininity, just feminism.

So, there ya go.

Men with breasts? Hmmm…

Well, we do ingest/inject/insert mechanisms into our bodies in order to chemically suppress our fertility, the very essence of our femininity, so that we can have sex without getting pregnant, just like men!

Oh wait, that’s not us. That’s them.

I think Obama should call the victims of this slander and offer his support. After all, Limbaugh insulted one woman, this clown insulted millions.

What I find interesting is that men really do have breasts and can even develop breast cancer. It’s also quite clear from a biological view that unborn children are (gasp) human beings at a stage of development that continues throughout their entire lives. So calling pro-life women “men with breasts” shows an amazing lack of knowledge of basic biology (and probably very few trips to the beach where it becomes obvious that men do indeed have breasts), along with an extreme lack of charity and respect for men, women, and unborn children (who, fittingly enough, develop breasts in the womb - both genders).

Also, I have to admit that when I saw the photo of the legislator (knowing beforehand that she is female) I honestly thought she had a beard. It was a grey microphone and I didn’t have my glasses on. I just thought I’d throw that in. 😉

I’ll put this one in with the “an ultrasound is rape” and “they aren’t babies - they’re womb squatters” file.

It might surprise you to know that there are many avid pro-lifers that have liberal viewpoints. Some of us look at each issue carefully and, hopefully using our well-formed consciences, decide on a course of action without worrying about whether it is considered liberal or conservative.

I am avidly pro-life. I am also an avid environmentalist. “Modern leftism?” Is that a concept that you have personified to the point where it actually has the capability of “fetishizing the freedom of the human will” and attempting to recast in terms that "can be changed? There is nothing wrong with being liberal when being liberal is the moral, ethical way to be.

In fact, Jesus was quite the liberal when he walked the earth as God Incarnate. IMHO.

She should be jailed for mocking her political opponents?
Nah, just apprehended, given a good talking-to and then let go. And probably apprehended by her own supporters and staff who hope she has some sort of political future which she is blowing by saying the silly, nonsensical things she did (although why anyone would want someone who says things like that to have a political future is beyond me).

It reminds me of Hillary Clinton asking who painted the “painting” of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Bad question, poor preparation by her staff.

Its probably a bad question for a politician (who might need the support of pious Catholics in the near future) to ask publicly. But its a perfectly reasonable question for most non-Catholics to ask.

I agree. 🙂

Not really, any more than asking a devout Mormon who made Joseph Smith’s gold plates.

Given that the objects are believed to be of supernatural origin by Catholics and Mormons respectively, there is no way the provenance of either, if they were man-made, would be recorded or discoverable. It seems inherently UNreasonable to me to ask a question the answer to which is unknowable.

Wow, insulting both men and women at the same time! Indeed, a new low.
