I gave up many things this lent. I learned that I am thankful for
whatever I have, because God knows how to make things good,
in any circumstance. Now that everything’s over, I do not feel
inadequate, but powerful, knowing I can do without whatever I
have to, and life will still be good. Now these words of Jesus
are on my mind: I came that they may have life, and have it to
the full. I mean to think on these words through the coming year,
and next lent focus more on how I can help Jesus give life to others, so they have it to the full.

I’d like to know the lenten experience of others this year, did your
chosen observance(s) accomplish what you hoped they would? and any plans for next lent.

I found that God has another way of answering a prayer to
alleviate suffering. If He doesn’t take it away, He has the power
to make it o.k. anyway by being there with it. I thank God for
lent and how He shows me more of Himself each year…

Lent is over but that does not mean that we should forget those practices that we became accustomed to. Like Friday Penetence, Not eating meat or some other Penence on Fridays, Praying a Rosary once a week or once a day, The continuation of a life of daily prayer and reflection. Visiting the Sacrament of Reconciliation and reflection on sin in our lives.

At the end of Lent, I finally realized why I was not confirmed yet…still need a little more time and spiritual growth before I’m ready. I hope to continue to pray more, and get ever closer to God. And I did keep with my private choice to give up chocolate, which now has me on the track to try to be healthier physically.

All in all, pretty good for my first lent.
