Hah, that’s a funny one, goodcatholic. :)) I can imagine you now frowning as you read a cringe-worthy post on a CAF thread. Lol.

ok thank you all for your helpful (name removed by moderator)ut. Have a blessed Lent~

I sacrificed a lot to send my children to Catholic schools, but neither one of them practices their faith. They aren’t anti-Catholic, but they are just not interested. I still pray for them and will till I die, but it hurts me deeply.

Chronic health condition, which is ‘invisible’ as it is termed and as yet undiagnosed (7 1/2yrs) which just means that it is seldom taken seriously by the medical/social service. Related to that living with limited financial means. This illness is the greatest gift that could ever have been bestowed on me despite the fact it’s a cross it’s a blessing too.

Telephone ringing all the time, without any important things except telemarketing and insurance salespeople.

Depression, anxiety as a result of a difficult childhood as well as the antidepressants I have to take…the cure is sometimes worse than the disease. There’s probably alot more but those are the.main ones along with my ongoing rage towards God.

I’m so sorry to hear your ongoing difficulties, but please don’t rage against God, spiritual torment only worsens your condition. There are so many CAF threads which can help enlighten you. You are in the right place…just maintain an open mind. I will keep you in my prayers.

If you heard it from him directly it’s inapppropriate. If you heard it through the gossip mill then it could be false. How do you know a priest’s secret?

If he told you something grievous then you should notify the Bishop. He should not be telling this to you directly, it’s inappropriate. If you heard it through the gossip mill ignore it.

They may not be in hell depending on their circumstances. Worry about your own salvation and pray for their conversion. Imagining people in hell is a trick from Satan. God wishes ALL to be saved and there are instances where one is ignorant, mental illness which can impair judgement etc., that will not render them in Hell.

Only God knows who is is in heaven and hell. Take care of your too and God bless.

Neither of your questions/accusations apply to my case. Also, I would never tell his Bishop. It would be wrong to do that to him.

Seperated again hoping and praying to get back together but unsure whether it will work .Children drifting away from the faith , older children with troubles ,low income .
Mostly living with uncertainty ,the odd crisis but all in all as some one mentioned you learn to live with it when it’s been that way for so long 😃

I don’t think mentioning that you know a secret is a good idea since some people can get real nosy about these kinds of things.

General discomforts and sacrifices related to pregnancy.

Spent most of my life with relatively few medical issues, and now that I’m pregnant, I’ve had to deal with fatigue, pain, hormonal shifts, and most recently, heartburn. Pretty normal and mostly small things, but new to me and sometimes hard to deal with.

All is tolerated for love of our child, but sometimes they are small things that can really pile up, especially since this is a busy season at my work. I know it is worth it though.

Addiction, chronic shoulder pain, clinical depression, unemployment, sense of inadequacy. I’ve got a heavy one

Getting out of bed cheerfully when the alarm goes off.
Dealing with irksome tasks, straightaway.
Smiling to others, though you don’t want to.
Fixing the flat tire, with a spirit of thanksgiving, when you’re late for a meeting.
Handling interruptions calmly, patiently, attentively.
Putting your iphone down instantly cheerfully, when you’re child says: “Morning Dad!”
Going to bed on time, after a quick prayer.

I think it’s fine when you’re doing it anonymously on an Internet forum.

I would like to THANK you all for responding to this topic. Be assured that I will pray for all of you. I know that it’s hard to tell our crosses to others (especially if they’re particularly heavy) and I know this is harder for those who are already widely known in this CAF community. I actually saw someone (very known here) in the act of writing her long reply to this thread, but later on she decided not to post it…so I reiterate, THANK YOU all for sharing. May you have a blessed and meaningful Lenten season.
