Im not sure what category to put this under.
Sorry
Ideas for lent

Can you ask yourself

Do I pray the rosary do I read the

Bible? Do I pray for the conversion of souls and souls in purgatory? The divine mercy chaplet is great.

Will I be prepared. If I were to die tonight Would I go to hell. It is important to examine your consionce everyday and to say the act of contrition praying three hail Mary’s. Going to confession at least once a week incase of mortal sin immediately. In lent its a great idea to

Think of the passion

Read of the saints

Work on your goals.

Examine yourself daily

(This is just a idea but I also Pray act of contrition before angelus. Also if I felt if I commited a sin. Even if It was genial. It is a great idea to talk to your priest/spiritual director about this.)

Avoid meat on Friday.

If you wanna take a step futher do this year round.

Keep the holy days of obligation.

Give up some things.

I hope I havnt offended anyone with my ideas or opinions sorry.

So there are some things you can do if you want to.

I also am sharing this with christian anwsers and another christian forums website I hope that’s okay.

All great ideas! I’m also going to try to be more aware when I get angry, because it’s usually a response to fear, and offer that fear to God to be healed.

And keep in mind not to crowd Lent with too much ‘stuff’. It is a time of recreating Jesus 40 days in the desert so fasting is important of course. Bishop Barron gives us a good guideline for this Lent here.

spirituality seems a good place. I’ve moved it.

“observances” might be a good sub-forum to add (but not as important as a flat-out theology forum, as opposed to the moral theology forum)

Just discovered as a result of a suggestion during a meeting, that reading the Epistle of James is a very good thing to do. I’ve started reading it, slowly, considering the verses each carefully…full of very good stuff esp for Lent, or for any time one needs to work on humility.
Just my $0.02.

I am praying for those in life giving me a hard time. They have blessed me by bringing me to my knees in prayer.

What strikes me is that whatever we do or don’t do during lent, it is to be between God and us, not “bragged” to man. When my sister asked what I gave up for lent, I told her it was personal between God and me. This is an area where non-Catholics can make wrong assumptions about Catholics have to give up xyz for lent (a vegetable they don’t even eat) like it’s a joke.
