Fast and abstain on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Abstain from meat on Fridays of Lent. On the other days you could purposely eat meat as a penance. After all, when our Lord sent out the disciples to preach He instructed them to eat “whatever was set before them.” Humble submission in the matter of food and drink is not easy but very good as it enables us to be more selfless in our personal tastes, more obedient, and thereby more Christlike. Hope this helps. Have a blessed Lent.
