Our Pastor gave a really good homily about Lent and the things to give up. He suggested that instead of giving up something, chocalate, beer, etc. That we find a personality characteristic that we should ask The Lord to help us with. and to continue on after Lent with theis project.

I have anger and frustration issues and I seem to be unable to have the faith that Lord will handle what ever is the problem this thing that is aggrivating me.

Please Brothers and Sister, please pray for me that my faith
increases, and I can trust Jesus to help me.:gopray2: :gopray2:

I have anger and frustration issues as well. My wife said something the other day about my language. As a result, I have decided to give up the use of foul language especially in public and around my 8 year old boy.

It was always my understanding that Lent is a time to give something up and to unite that with Jesus, not to try and behave as Christians. This is not meant as an insult.

I would think that offering up alcohol, meat, sweets, whatever for that character flaw (and of course, to unite with Jesus) would be the best way to overcome it. Adding an extra devotion (Little Office of the Blessed Virgin, the Rosary, or all 15 Mysteries, Stations of the Cross, etc would be a big help). Again, non of this is meant to degrade, just my understanding.🙂

praying for you marilyn. anger happens to be my major flaw as well. what i’m doing as often as i remember (when i start to get frustrated/angry) is to say a Hail Mary to overcome it and to love more…this seems to be helping. God’s Blessings on you. you too cw4lsu.
