Ash Wednesday ~ Feb.25th, 2009

Almighty God, at one time public sinners were segregated and marked with ashes. Today we use ashes to make the Sign of the Cross on our foreheads. We acknowledge our sinfulness and hear the call to turn from sin. But we also remember the salvation bought for us by the Cross of Christ, as we travel with Him on the holy journey of Lent that will bring us closer to You. Amen.

We ask God to draw us closer to Him, and we ask the graces to grow in love and authentic Christian love during Lent.
