Each day of Lent around midnight UTC I’ll post a link about the life of a saint (usually from wikipedia). All you have to do in this program is read the link each day, but you may also post other links about the same saint or discuss them in this thread. Follow this thread if you want to stay notified

I like the idea and your willingness to do this, but can you find a better source than Wikipedia? The Catholic Company sends a daily email which features the Saint of the Day.

CatholicCulture.org and IndCatholicNews.com (ICN) both feature a Saint of the Day, with a biography of the saint, almost every day. Rob2 often posts the saints from ICN.

For ICN, the saint link is on the left of the portal page - scroll down if you don’t see it.
For Catholic Culture, just select “Liturgical Year” from the top menu and then select “Today” (you may need to close some fundraising popups).

Part of the reason I want to use Wikipedia is it might have details that don’t appear on other sites / might be more comprehensive, but I’ll have a look at other sites and see what I think. I also don’t want to stick to the saint of the day as that means we miss out on anyone whose day doesn’t fall during Lent

But, Wikipedia is not a reliable source, so those additional details might be complete nonsense. I like Franciscan media for saint profiles. Theirs tend to be detailed.

Wikipedia is just a place to start. Please add the other information along with it! I would love to read more…

Thanks for sharing that. I have heard the name Casimir of Poland from Sid Meier’s Civilisation V, but not sure if it’s the same guy

Feel free to invite non CAF users to join in our Lenten program

The Wikipedia article on St Augustine is really long. I’m not finished it yet. Something shorter coming soon

Great Idea. I am currently involved in the revision of an online saint directory. If you are looking for any suggestions, let me know.

Have you got a favorite saint that you want me to include in this program?
