Well, I do the usual weekly rotation during the week.i read somewhere, (maybe at newadvent ??) that during lent every day the sorrowful mysteries are used.

the traditional days all thru the year are joyous on Monday and Thursday, Sorrowful on Tuesday and Friday, Glorious on Wed. and Sat. During Advent, Joyful on Sunday, During Lent, Sorrowful on Sunday, During Eastertide and the rest of the year, Glorious on Sunday. With the introduction of the Luminous mysteries, saying them on Thursday has been one common suggestion.i read somewhere, (maybe at newadvent ??) that during lent every day the sorrowful mysteries are used.

Common enough, but certainly not mandatory. And I often do the Franciscan Crown no matter what the day of the week or the season. And if you wish to concentrate on the sorrow of Mary, you could recite the Servite Rosary.i read somewhere, (maybe at newadvent ??) that during lent every day the sorrowful mysteries are used.

So true, and thanks for pointing it out. When the Church gathers communally for prayer, especially at the Mass, we are to model the Oneness Jesus desires for us as the Body of Christ.in personal devotion, pray whatever mysteries you want, or the other uses of the rosary devotion as suggested.
in public recitations of the rosary, the traditional mysteries should be recited to avoid confusion and aid communal prayer.
