Lesbian Couple in Finding Dory?

So yeah, as if the Frozen 2 situation wasn’t enough. There is a brief scene in the Finding Dory trailer that seems to show a lesbian couple. It hasn’t been confirmed by anyone at Disney, but considering where our culture is going, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they did. Honestly, I think both sides of the argument are over-exaggerating. It may just be a mom with a child and a random stranger or a friend just happened to be there.

So, any thoughts?

Good that your parents told you about that early. What concerns me is that kids may be exposed to it and parents will not tell them that same-sex attraction is disordered. Then they may come to tolerate and for some accept the gay lifestyle and agenda, which is not good.

With all that said, I’m sure it won’t be a red flag situation. Finding Dory is about fish, and the humans are there as background.

Frankly from the preview it looks like nothing more than two women pushing a baby stroller for a grand total of 1 second out of the entire movie, a scenario which plays out daily across the world. My wife frequently takes our youngest for walks with one of her friends, and I rarely assume that women I see in the same situation are in a relationship. The only way this will become an issue is if Disney, or people in general, make it one.

I was going to say just that…

People will read into tiny fragments of screen time all sorts of things that may or may not be there in the intention of the director. And even if it is meant to be a lesbian couple…it is from my understanding so utterly inconsequential to the film in every conceivable way that it beggars belief it’s something to get wound up about. If lesbianism in this or any film is problematic, then the fuss maybe should be made about Ellen DeGeneres voicing the title character (as though THAT matters one hoot either - of course it doesn’t).

The real world contains lots of homosexuals (although fewer than the noise made by or about that portion of the population probably indicates!), and who are just as loving and in need of our neighbourly love and charity as everyone else. Seeing two women - even if they ARE a lesbian couple with a child - is going to be something that most children as they grow up will probably encounter at least from time to time. Whether or not such a relationship is sinful, and whether or not it’s the most ideal environment to raise a child, is beside the point. No one is going to get on in the world if they end up being coached into doing a double-take every time they see a gay person.

I hardly think a few moments of screen time constitutes a ringing endorsement of anything anyway - it’s just a fragment of time reflecting real life, before we return to a world in which fish are friends and not food.

This is likely just an adult joke by the creators. Pixar is known for doing that in their films. I don’t think that anything sinister is going on.

Well, a week ago I saw the film, and thankfully the two women were not explicitly a couple. They only appeared for a few seconds and the baby stroller wasn’t even theirs. So we can all put this topic to rest. Go watch the movie, it’s decent for a Pixar sequel.

I wouldn’t put it past John Lasseter to include LGBT representation in future Pixar or Walt Disney Animation Studios films though. He is a liberal Illuminati director.

Woah, I wouldn’t call him associated with the Illuminati unless you have proof that he is. Otherwise, you’re right that future movies from Disney or Pixar may start to portray LGBT themes or characters, and quite frankly, if that happens, we should not support those movies in any way. We should all pray that that doesn’t happen.

Yes, exactly. Another ginned-up non-story compliments of the sleepless gaping maw that is Social Media.
