Another Protestant denomination of the **Lutheran tradition **has fallen into the culture of death of Homosexuality.

Shameful.
Excerpts from the article:
Sitting in sight of her father and grandfather, both Lutheran ministers, Jen Rude on Saturday became the first ordained lesbian pastor since the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America urged bishops to not penalize congregations who violate the celibacy requirement for gay clergy.

Several of the more than 100 congregants present wept as the 27-year-old stood before them, a beaming smile drawn across her face.

Under church policy, homosexual ministers are required to make a vow of abstinence outside of marriage. Rude, who is not in a relationship, believes the policy discriminates against gay clergy who may not marry (this paragraph as published has been corrected in this text).

“We all realized that sexual orientation has nothing to do with how well a person can minister a congregation,” said Kathy Young, a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Lakeview, where the ordination was held.

Young was absolute about the decision to violate church policy by ordaining Rude: “This is who we are and this is what we do.” Read full article

That is just sad.

Perfect evidence of what happens when people depart from the Truth…

Even though I agree with you, I have never heard the terminology “culture of death” applied to the ordaination of homosexuals.
Nevertheless, the ELCA will have to sow what they reap from this.

Anything is bound to happen when you split off from the true church. Expect the worse, especially when it comes to morality. You can lump the Episcopalians with them as well.

The culture of death is a term we Catholic uses. Homosexuality falls into this catagory because homosexual unions is Anti-life. In homosexual unions, there is no life giving gift compared to union between a man and woman in marriage.

In the marriage between a man and woman, life is given. Through their act of love, a new life is given. They part take in the creative work of God, by granting them a gift of a new born child.

Homosexual unions don’t. There acts does not produce life. No child is produce in the relationship. They had to look towards adaptation or use medical means to make one through invitro.

The culture of death is a term used by Pope John Paul II.

The Culture of Death represents the ultimate degeneration of the entire civilization, and it represents nothing less than total opposition to God and his authority over the spectrum of life and death–indeed over every dimension of morality.

I see. I had only heard it applied to abortion and such. Well explained.

No problem. I think you and I believe homosexual is immorally wrong. I also like to note the homosexual culture has infiltrated the Catholic Church by liberal Catholics. I was listening Good-bye, Good Men. From the 1940-1970s, Vocation directors have turned away candidate for the seminary who have a orthodox view of Catholicism and are loyal to the Magisterium.

However, I like to note that my own vocation director from PA has told me that recently, the changes have been made in the seminary. The new priests graduated from the seminary are very loyal to the Magisterium. This is good because I’m considering to be one. I like to note that St. Charles Barreomeo Seminary in PA was not mentioned in the Book Good-bye, Good Men. The CD set of Good-Bye, GoodMen was narrated by Tim Staples, a Catholic Apologists and a former seminarian of St. Charles.

We do agree and that is a positive development for the Catholic Church.
We are in the midst of this struggle in the United Methodist Church but the good guys are winning 😃
Hopefully it stays that way.

The worst of it is, the ELCA’s stand on abortion. This is just the next step in the slow but sure rapid decent into the pit.

Since we see our elders in our Church being bought out by the homosexual culture, there isn’t much we can do but pray for them.

Well our church has the same stand. You can either high tail out or stay and fight for unborn life. It is tough. The President is anti-abortion and Methodist. But Hillary is the opposite and also Methodist.
As the conservative African section of our church grows, a lot of the socially liberal policies that a select few put in will go away. That is my prayer.:gopray:

I’m please with the President stance on abortion. Too bad, not all the top candidates are Pro-Life.

WOW, you are discerning the Priesthood? That’s wonderful!!! God bless you! Praise God!!!

Yeah Rudy versus Hillary is a really bad choice. Both pro abortion.
shameful. I think the moral majority are just too afraid to vote what is morally right. I read a poll somewhere that support for abortion has dropped, and we are gaining the majority view. However, the American public would decide to vote pro-choice candidate than a pro-lifer…
