California has really gone off the deep end on this LGBT stuff. This is terrible!
The State passed a law saying that (public?) schools MUST have LGBT awareness classes,
so that kids can learn about important contributions to society made by LGBT people.
Terrible!

Faux-Parents, Physicians, Counselors are all part of this fiasco.
Maybe some are but I am a licensed therapist and see this a child abuse so I hope you are not painting mental health and medical professionals with a wide brush.

This is down right disgusting. And the “boy” will know the difference one day. Reminds me of a story, “As nature made him.” It was about a boy who was given “reassignment” stuff over the course of several years starting in infancy. Problem being, it didn’t take because his brain was that of a male child. Later, when he finally found this out, the treatment was stopped and he started living as a male. Of course, he can’t have children now, thanks to his parents and the doctors who made this choice for him. I think it’s pure selfishness and stupidity on the part of the “parents.” If the kid was older and wanted the sex change, that would be one thing. But to choose it for him? Disgusting!!

Ah, just do you know, the reason the parents in that case in the book you mention gave him sex reassignment surgery was because they had elected at birth to subject him to the unnecessary, cosmetic amputation surgery of his prepuce known as circumcision. The surgery was botched and resulted in his penis being amputated. So they were trying to make the best decision they could in an awful circumstance. I’d say they made one bad decision and then compounded it with another. His name was David Reimer, it’s a fascinating, if awful, cautionary tale of the dangers of unnecessary surgery. And he cant do anything now at all because he committed suicide in 2004, God rest his tortured soul.😦

And I agree in this case, the child is way to young to allow for valid consent for this surgery. It’s unethical for the physicians to perform it in my opinion.

Ringil,

I did not say all faux-parents…

faux parents implies these faux-parents…and in the context of these faux parents that consulted some physicians and some counselors in this case should be ready reference for you to draw the conclusion that it relates to this specific incident according to the thread

**Re: Lesbian Parents Put 8-Year-Old Boy Through a Sex Change **

If you generalized from my posting then it is relevant to clarify so that others do not generalize from my posting.

I would like to see you continue your opinions of what you think of these therapists and these physicians.

Funny you should mention that; there was a Law & Order SVU re-run on yesterday that revolved around a similar case (botched circumcision and the parents’ decision to raise the boy as a girl). It was an interesting episode, to say the least.

Your sources are worthless.

Both grossly distort the story. They are misrepresentations of a 2011 report published by CNN.

Here it is: cnn.com/2011/09/27/health/transgender-kids

If you want have real discussion on the issue, refer to the CNN link.
You mean a story with a positive spin…
The American Psychological Association warns that “It is not helpful to force the child to act in a more gender-conforming way.” When they’re forced to conform, some children spiral into depression, behavioral problems and even suicidal thoughts.
and endorsed by homosexual run organizations.

got it:thumbsup:

Anybody who would put a child through that needs to be locked up for a long, long, long time.

I think the problem in your field is that some professionals make decisions regarding gay parenting on some pretty out-of-date, linear research.

This is child abuse, as you say, but I’ll bet there’s people out there would circle the wagons just because the couple are lesbians.

We must pray for the future course of western civilization. The west needs politicians with morals (I know it seems like a contradiction). We need someone to act on behalf of the people. In the majority of these states and countries that are passing gay “marriage”, the majority of the populations in these areas/states/countries are AGAINST gay “marriage”. Let’s pray for some solid moral politicians to come along and say, “too bad militant gay agenda, there is no such thing as gay marriage and it is hereby outlawed and all gay marriages are invalidated”. Then sign it into law and make it so it can never be amended.

Yes, I’ve seen that episode too. Law and Order often takes its cues for subject matter from real world events and I think that episode was inspired direct by David Reimer’s story. He had a twin brother as well.

Just checking, but are you suggesting that the American Psychological Association is somehow run by homosexuals? And that therefore their opinions about the harmful effects of trying to, essentially, force gender identity reinforcing behaviors on children being harmful are wrong or untrustworthy? Really?

I don’t this this is right, but bad parenting is not exclusive to gay parents. Only a few weeks ago there was controversy when straight parents on Colorado started taking action over their child who they insisted on being recognised as the opposite gender at school (there was a thread about it on here, but I think it’s since been deleted). Likewise there was (presumably still are) other straight parents (Finland this time) refused to disclose the gender of their child to anyone in order to let him/her define his/her own sex.

This case, while shocking and reprehensible does not mean that all gay parents are going to be bad parents any more than the two other cases I’ve mentioned mean that all straight parents are going to be bad parents. All it means is that these parents are bad parents. They can’t be used as a guideline for any other situation.

But, of course, don’t let common sense get in the way of a good old fashioned self-righteous moral panic…

No, you don’t get it.

Victorygirlsblog (that sounds so reputable ) misrepresents a two year old Daily Mail story that in turn is based on a CNN report. The blog did no interviews or research of it’s own; not with the families, not with the physicians, not with the psychologists. The blog implies an eight year old had a sex change operation, which did not occur. The blog ignores the fact a (possibly) single and, I assume straight, woman is dealing with the same issue as the lesbian couple. It uses this omission to attack LGBT people and further inflame the bias of its ignorant readers.

You don’t know all parents and you do not know all gay parents. Regeneruos has studied gay parents and his conclusions differ from yours.

narth.com/2012/06/regenerus-study-on-homosexual-parenting/
In a historic study of children raised by homosexual parents, sociologist Mark Regnerus of the University of Texas at Austin has overturned the conventional academic wisdom that such children suffer no disadvantages when compared to children raised by their married mother and father. Just published in the journal Social Science Research,[1] the most careful, rigorous, and methodologically sound study ever conducted on this issue found numerous and significant differences between these groups–with the outcomes for children of homosexuals rated “suboptimal” (Regnerus’ word) in almost every category.

absolutely not. Catholics should oppose Gay parenting, gay sex adoption and gay marriage. No panic. Common sense. The catechism requires you and every Catholic to follow Christ…

Life in Christ=following all Church teachings on morality and after reading the Regenerous study and commentaries then no panic should ensue…🙂
