It might be naturally fluid within a certain range (Kinsey scale) but it can’t be changed forcefully under ideological (religious) pressure , reparative “therapy’” etc. A 100% fixed heterosexuality or homosexuality are at the edge of the scale. Most people are somewhere in between. And bisexual doesn’t mean u love,say, men simultaneously or as passionate as women.Bisexuality can be fluid indeed.
Another thing…self-identification and the reality might be different especially at a young age.

If this statistic is true, there’s more than one possible explanation for it.
While it could mean that sexuality is fluid as the article suggests, it could also mean that a large number of bisexual people are misidentifying themselves as homosexual.
Personally I think the Kinsey Scale gives a good explanation for this. The kinsey scale is arranged from 0 to 6 (0 = entirely heterosexual, 6 = entirely homosexual). So it could be that a lot of homosexual teens are having heterosexual sex because they’re 5 or 4 on the scale, instead of being a pure 6.
