Totally free. I do not believe in their unique doctrines, but I love the Mormon people. This will be one Christian to another. There will be no proselyting except for Christ. No hidden agendas.
OK, as long as you realize that, officially speaking, Mormonism is “unique” enough that neither Salt Lake nor Rome would consider Mormon-Catholic dialogue to be “one Christian to another”, strictly speaking. IOW, while the Church recognizes the validity of the baptisms of many Christian denominations, the Mormons don’t recognize Catholic baptisms as valid, nor does the Church recognize Mormon baptism. Unlike a Lutheran or a Baptist, a Mormon joining the Catholic Church would have to be baptised.
To your question: Are you supposed to be teaching chastity so that they can use your reflections directly themselves (narrow focus), so that they can turn around and teach it to younger men (broader focus), so that they can turn around and teach it to an entire Mormon stake (broader focus yet), or so that they gain some insights into how Catholics understand sexual morality (outside focus)? That’s the first question to answer. For instance, they might find an explanation of celibacy to either be exactly what they want to hear or a completely irrelevant waste of their time. Answer that question, then decide on topics.
I’m also concerned that you make it clear you are not representing Rome or your diocese…because if you were, you’d have someone far more qualified to go to with this question instead of us. Make it abundantly clear that although your viewpoint is the viewpoint of a Catholic layperson who strives to live according to the teachings of the Church, these are your reflections based on your own understanding of the topic, and by no means a definitive statement of what the Catholic Church teaches.
PS I think you will find that most Christian denominations in the US have relations with Salt Lake City that are similar to those that Rome does. I don’t know of a mainline denomination that accepts Mormon baptism as Christian, and the Mormons certainly don’t recognize the baptisms of anyone else.
