Luke 18:16 But Jesus called the children to Him and said, “Let the little children come to me…”

I once heard someone arguing against infant baptism counter the use of this verse that it does not refer to babies because he called them. They are just “children”, not “babies.” But on accident, I have encountered the preceding verse today:

Luke 18:15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them.

Most Bibles maintain the use of “babies” or “infants” in v. 15. I looked up the Greek, and sure enough, the definition of the word in v. 15 is “a new-born child, an infant, a babe.” Have I been missing this all this time? 😊 How well this fits in with baptism as the new circumcision!!
