Let Us Not Forget What The Catholic Church did During The holocaust To Help The Jews

We hear so much about the Holocaust, but not enough credit is given to the Catholic church and her undying quest to save the Jews from being killed themselves. There are many numerous stories from Jews who are extremely grateful to Pope Pius for his relentless fight for saving as many as 800,000 people.
The Israeli Consul, Pinchas E. Lapide’s book titled “Three Popes and The Jews” critically examines, and according to his research, the Catholic church saved 860,000 Jews from Nazi death camps. The Jewish historian Jenoe Levai’s Book titled “The church Did not Keep silent” is also excellent.
You must also remember the Holocaust was also anti-Christian. After Hitler revealed his true intentions, the Catholic church opposed him. Even the famous Albert Einstein testified to that.
By the late 1940, over 200,000 Christians were prisoners in Nazi camps. Some estimate as high as 800,000.
In September 1945, Leon Kubowizky secretary general of the Jewish Congress, personally thanked the pope for his interventions and the World Jewish congress donated $20,000 to Vatican charities in recognition of the work of the Holy See in rescuing Jews from Fascist and Nazi persecutions.
The Jewish Scholar Sir Martin Gilbert told an interviewer that Pius XII deserves not blame, but thanks.
This post is in no way minimizing the Jews who were killed, nor downplaying the severity of the suffering of the Jewish people. It is just a reminder of the Catholic church and the help it has given to those who so desperately needed it.

He was baptized entirely of his own free will and asked Pius XII, with whom he had worked closely in the saving of Jewish lives, to be his godfather. Dr. Zolli chose the name Eugenio, his baptismal name because it was Pius’s own name.
Golda Meir, Albert Einstein, Moshe Sharett, and Rabbi issac Herzog, plus numerous others publicly expressed their gratitude to Pius.

At the aniversary of Pope Pius’s death last year, a delegation of the Jewish survivors, together with dignitaries from the Jewish communities the world over, arrived at The Vatican to pay their respects and homage to another beacon of the The Church.

Multitudes of Jews are Catholics. To speak FOR The Church can be implicit of being anti-semite or some idiot will take it there! Those who look with favour towards The Church know their history and feel their gratitude as real and tangible without having to express it.
