This is an urgent prayer request for vocations. The number of religious men and women in the United States and beyond is dwindling rapidly. Your prayers are desperately needed.
I’m sure you’ve heard the startling statistics of the declining numbers of Roman Catholic priests. Maybe you’ve even talked to your children or grandchildren about the possibility of someday becoming a priest, brother or sister. Perhaps you belong to a parish with only one priest – or maybe even no priest – and find it challenging to attend daily Mass.
There are four Oblate formation houses in the United States. The young men studying in these four houses strive to follow in the footsteps of our founder, St. Eugene De Mazenod, O.M.I. Each of these students endures high costs of housing, food, and education: the same essentials that they will someday be sharing with the poor in Oblate missions around the world.
I ask that you consider sending a donation to help ease the cost of our Oblate novitiate and seminary programs. Or remember them in prayer by lighting a Votive Candle or sending me your personal prayer intentions which include these special men. Thank you for your generosity.
