I’m using my beast-numbered post to write about that number. Have you had any bad experiences with this number?

A few years ago, I went shopping with Mom. The total came to this number and the cashier asked Mom if she wanted to change it. I don’t remember what Mom said but we were all freaked out.

It is just a number and now if you look at your postcount it has already changed. Though we know it does signify the beast, we don’t want to get superstitious.

And it ALSO signifies the six hundreth sixty sixth item in any series greater than six hundred sixty five. The focus should be on the beast, not on the number.
 
The number “666” is also octal, dear 😉
In decimal (what CAF is likely using to count the posts), it would be 438. I agree that we shouldn’t get superstitious, though.
 
If you multiply 6 by 6 you get 36.

If you add up the integers from 1 to 36 inclusive you get 666.

Isn’t that a cool numerical coincidence?

6 cubed ( 6 x 6 x 6) is 216.

216 is the product of the cubes of 1, 2 and 3

216 is also the sum of the cubes of 3, 4, and 5

Spiritually I don’t think any of the above means a thing. I just like playing with numbers. But some people have speculated that these properties form a part of the reason why 666 is said to be the number of the beast. Not sure what justification that have for that speculation.

666 avoidance can go far too far. A friend wouldn’t enter his college basement. The reason? It had 3 washing machines and each cost 60 pence. Hmmm.

Barcodes - every barcode on a product in a shop has 3 extra digits that you won’t see in the number beneath. The 3 extra digits (2 narrow lines) are 666. Much fuel there for reading into endtime prophecies. Some books claimed the mark of the beast would be barcodes tattooed onto our foreheads. Now of course the same writers have moved onto people being chipped instead.
 
666 is bad. It allows unlimited modifications to files. It is equivalent to

-rw-rw-rw-

in the Unix permissions system.
 
666 is Nero’s name in numerical form. That’s all.Simply a number.
 
The number 7 is used in the Bible to signify completion, perfection, ergo, divinity.
So all that 666 means is: falls short of God in every way.
