Most forums encourage you to search, but I don’t think they mean to dredge up and respond to old threads.
 
We used ABC before I converted, and a diaphragm after separation.
I regret using birth control.
I´m pregnant again and planning abstinence.
 
I never used birth control. At first because I didn’t want to ask my parents when I should have been waiting for marriage. Then because I was worried about my dad seeing it on his insurance somewhere. Then because I didn’t want anything to mess up my natural fertility and cycles. Now because I understand much better the Catholic teaching on it, appreciate the beautiful gift of children and because I made my vow to be open to children.

Only thing hubby ever did was pull out until 4 months before we conceived dd. Never will he pull out again

p.s- It is sorta funny idk but when my dad found out I was pregnant… he was like I know better and should have used bc (gee thanks for the <3 for my new baby). After the shock he was happy though =)

Used Contraceptive in the past.

Currently not using contraceptive, but will be going back on the pill to prevent pregnancy due to maintenance medication I have been taking and will most likely always be taking for the rest of my days.

Oh well, here goes! ducks and cover!

We currently use ABC. I cannot use many BC methods (including pills) due to medical issues. At the time my daughter was born, they were still exploring medical options so best thing to do was to wait long-term to find out so we opted for an IUD. The IUD has caused me lots of emotional grief, and I pray daily for the strength to trust God with our family. My fear overcomes me though (I have posted about this before) and I am struggling. My husband supports me in this decision because he saw what the last pregnancy did to me emotionally and physically. My next check-up is in March, and I could choose to get IUD out then if that is what we decide. I had a mix-up at the Dr’s office (a nurse said congratulations to me!) and it sent me into a panic attack. Emotionally I am not ready to handle another pregnancy and I pray that God will give me guidance and help me to accept His will.
 
Used birth control years ago and I had no choice to stop after starting to take them, I ended up in ICU with not one but 2 blood clots; one on each lung.

Maybe this thread is like a good wine…getting better with age. 😉

Luvpinsanity, have you looked into Natural Birth Regulation/Natural Family Planning? (This is NOT the “rhythm method”.) It’s not as easy as an IUD or other ABC (because it involves communication, and a commitment to abstain during the fertile times), but is much healthier (no chemicals or physical inserts) and is every bit as effective…and it’s not contrary to the procreative aspect of your conjugal unions (so it’s Church-approved!). 😃
