Essentially that we are all climbing a mountain but on different sides, the end point is the same. Please check out his posting on his blog about it.

How would I best answer him, he has many times expressed this and has gotten other people to agree with his stand point. It honestly doesn’t make sense to me.

Your friend, like to many moderns, has apparently never read anything by G. K. Chesterton or even C. S. Lewis. If he had, he wouldn’t have had to waste so many words, citing sweepingly inaccurate examples from revisionist history, just to tell us that indifferentism and relativism are the right roads to heaven. He should start with “Mere Christianity” (CSL) and then graduate to “Orthodoxy” (GKC).

Talk about Absolute Relativism.

From looking at the rest of his website my guess would be he seems like a guy that likes to do what he wants when he wants. This article is his way of justifying. to himself, that he doesn’t need to put any effort into his religious beliefs. Someone telling you that you need to worship on Sundays would take him off the top of his list.

I gotta say I have no clue what point he is trying to make.

I think he knows he is preaching from the sand and not on solid footing. That’s why he starts his talk with …
How many times have you been in a debate or heated argument with someone and no matter how eloquently or clearly you make your case, they just don’t get it?
He uses this to plant a subliminal message into your brain that if you don’t agree with him, he’s not wrong, with his eloquent and clear argument, the real problem is you, because everyone else gets it.

Could you do me a favor and ask him a question for me? He states…
I probably already lost 99% of the 3 people reading this
How on earth is that mathematically possible.

Ok 2 of us walked away from reading any further that is 66-2/3 %. What did the last guy do before walking away?.. gouge his eyes out because he couldn’t read any further, leaving 0-1/3% of his DNA on the computer monitor. 😃

That’s where he is wrong. What does he say the end point is? Christ said that he is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one goes to the Father except by Him. If we believe that there is a God and the He established a means or pathway that we must follow to fulfil what He wants for us, then not to follow any other path is foolishness.

Right. Lots of people try to climb Everest, and some get lost in the blinding snow and take that fatal step off into oblivion. Some do genuinely seek, but many never arrive.

Well one way would be to point this out-

How would you know that a mountain top has many sides or paths to the top unless you can see the entire mountain clearly.

Similarly , unless you know the truth in its entirety how would you know if a particular path has truth in it or not ?

Ask your friend if the Hindu Aghori (who eat the ashes of dead people) are equal to other religions.

I guess its like being your own god. It happens all the time. Here is how I see it, Jesus came to this earth as God made Man to unite us all, and draw us to him. I guess if you want to get to the top of the mountain, but we want to get to heaven so we have to listen to Jesus.

But personally its just kind of instead of reading the word of God and obeying his word, this person would rather write his own book. Nothing unusual, like new religions everyday. Just another way of saying I refuse to obey the word of God, I would rather follow myself. Just my opinion.

You could point out that even on mountains some routes bring you closer to the top than others.

Your friend belongs to a religion called “Bahaiism.” He/She should look into it. Then, they should realize Jesus Christ gave the keys to heaven to Saint Peter in the bible, and is buried at the Vatican where his ministry continued to present day. Hope we see you there when the truth is realized. Also, read “case for Christ” where Jesus’ existence is proven. It may be the best $11 you ever spent if you share.
