  1. Was called upon to judge between who was the real Pope and who was the anti-Pope.
  2. Convinced a Duke to stop barring a bishop to his cathedral by holding the Blessed Sacrament before him and asking if he would despise Christ as he had despised Christ’s servants.
  3. Wrote the Rule of Life for the Knights Templar and is considered their patron.

Saint Cajetan!

Here in Buenos Aires people are pilgrimaging to his church. He is very popular here (ironically not because of the CRM).

  1. He and his siblings were put out to sea in a boat without any steering mechanism.
  2. According to local tradition, he is considered to be the founder and first bishop of a diocese in southern France.
  3. He was martyred in one of the early Roman persecutions of Christians.

Yes. In addition, I remember seeing his name in my Latin Missal. BTW, I think your third fact has a historical inaccuracy given that the Redemptorists were founded by St. Alphonsus Ligouri more than a century after the death of St. Francis Caracciolo. Looking at St. Francis Caracciolo’s Wikipedia page, I think you may have meant the Oratorians.

  1. He was a canon regular from the Medieval Era.
  2. He wrote perhaps the 2nd most widely read Christian book.
  3. One possible reason why he hasn’t been canonized yet is that he may have been buried alive.
