Intentions; Intentions for all who have offered prayers for my co-worker Sharon who is currently fighting for her life on a respiratory with COVID19.
For protection of all essential workers, especially my husband, his staff/coworkers, my brother-in-law, nephew, nieces, and close family and friends, for all suffering with the virus including the 19 people I know ( thankful that most are on the mend), for all who have died from the virus and their families, for an end to COVID19, for needed supplies and respirators in NY.
For those who are alone and cannot meet their basic needs in this challenging time.
For family friends who are ill, and have recently died.
For my mother.
For all who have died and could not receive a proper burial in this difficult time and for their families.
For all praying on this thread especially St. Bede, Katie777, and Katherine438
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who are in most need of Thy mercy. Amen
The Second Joyful Mystery – The Visitation
- Mary’s cousin Elizabeth conceived a son in her old age… for nothing is impossible with God.
- Charity prompts Mary to hasten to visit Elizabeth in the hour of her need.
- The journey to Elizabeth’s home is about eighty miles requiring four or five days.
- Though long and arduous, the journey is joyous, for Mary bears with her the Incarnate Word.
- At Mary’s salutation, John the Baptist is sanctified in his mother’s womb.
- Elizabeth exclaims: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”
- “How have I deserved that the mother of my Lord should come to me?”
- “Blessed is she who believed that the Lord’s words to her would be fulfilled.”
- Mary replies: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, and my spirit finds joy in God my Savior.”
- Mary serves her cousin in all humility for three months until the birth of John the Baptist.
Spiritual Fruit: Love of Neighbor
Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
