The Second Sorrowful Mystery – The Scourging at the Pillar

For an ending of the COVID-19 pandemic and for all people affected by it.

Our Father, who art in heaven hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen

For a smooth closing on my daughter’s home today and for the safety of my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, Lilah and Liam, from getting the coronavirus.

3rd Hail Mary, Second Sorrowful Mystery

“ The Second Sorrowful Mystery – The Scourging at the Pillar ”

  1. Jesus is taken before the High Priest where He is falsely accused, buffeted and insulted.
  2. The Jewish leaders take Jesus before Pilate, for only he can impose the death penalty.
  3. The robber, Barabbas, is preferred to Jesus.
  4. Pilate can “find no cause in Him”, yet to appease the Jews, he orders Jesus to be scourged.
  5. The scourge is made of leather thongs to which are attached small sharp bones.
  6. Jesus is bound to a pillar and cruelly scourged until His whole body is covered with deep wounds.
  7. The Lamb of God offers His suffering for the sins of mankind.
  8. Jesus suffers so much in His sacred flesh to satisfy, especially, for sins of the flesh.
  9. The prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: “He was wounded for our iniquities, He was bruised for our sins.”
  10. Father, by the merits of Jesus in this painful scourging, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

The house was closed on … they have the keys and are going to start moving some stuff in today … thank you and everyone who prayed for this great ending to their home purchasing saga. Praise the Lord for His Mercy and Kindness to my daughter and her family. With corona virus around a lot of things could have gone wrong … they could have shut down construction in Virginia and my son-in-law could be off work … but they didn’t do that … and they were able to both sell a house and make a good profit, and find the perfect home in the perfect area for them … thank you dear Lord.

Thank you all profusely for praying for me. I am SO sorry I haven’t been able to join in. I am literally up to my neck with work for university and have spent the last two months in a constant state of studying and exam-taking. I have NOT been doing well mentally and am very stressed.

I PROMISE I will rejoin this thread as soon as this semester is over in a few weeks. I had the absolute worst Holy Week in my life; I had a ton of tests and assignents due that I actually felt like sending a ranting e-mail to my professor about how inappropriate is it to pile students with more work than when we were physically attending university during HOLY WEEK. Luckily (and unluckily), I am not impulsive and did not do so.

Praying for you in private. LORD keep you all safe and sound in these trying times. May the LORD help us all with the burdens that we’re all struggling with in this time of pandemic.

We understand, @Salibi, so don’t add us to your worries. Some of us have constraints, too. Life happens. We all want the very best for you, and remember how overwhelmed a serious student can be, so you spend your time as you see fit in order to do your best now when it is so important for your future.

Our Lord hears exclamatory prayers of, “Please help me, Jesus!” and, “Thank you for pulling me through that test!” just as he hears our familiar prayers.

Just know in your very bones that we at CAF are praying for you and sending our best wishes. 😇
