I have started saying the Rosary before Mass begins but who encouraged me to start was the members in our church. You never know, as members of any congregation, the impression you give to others who are either strengthening their faith or towards those who are looking for one. Even so, with families, and I was so impressed with these articles,that the popes are encouraging to pray the rosary as a family for strengthening unity and direction ~meditation.

We had a young man at mass (about 11 years old, yesterday) who had impressed the whole section where we sat. It was amazing to hear him during the mass and singing. The woman next to me and myself said that he had a beautiful voice! It is quiet amazing to see children participating that strongly!
“Meditation on the mysteries of the Rosary . . . can be an excellent preparation for the celebration of those same mysteries in the liturgical actions [i.e. the Mass] and can also become a continuing echo thereof” (Pope Paul VI).

The Rosary is the compendium of the entire Gospel" (Pope Paul VI approving a quote from Pope Pius XII).

“No one can live continually in sin and continue to say the Rosary: either they will give up sin or they will give up the Rosary” (Bishop Hugh Doyle).

“Pope Leo XIII wrote eleven encyclicals exhorting the faithful to pray the Rosary daily. Our Lady of Fatima asked the faithful to pray the Rosary daily . The Popes have also granted a plenary indulgence to reciting the Rosary as a family or in a Church.”

🎄 @St.Bede would have been very pleased to see that you did. Our youth community in our Catholic faith is very impressive and for you to know at your age the direction that you want to head is a blessing and very impressive. One has to be very strong and have a great support system with family, the church you belong to and friends!

You might check with the youth ministry at the college you attend when it comes time. Some of our young adults, like yourself, have done this early~ you might change you mind on colleges but at least you will be prepared on the direction. Glad you are ahead on your choice. This gives us hope as a Catholic community and those who have chosen a religious life.

And one of my favorite prayers, interestingly from a confederate soldier.

I asked for strength that I might achieve;
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked for health that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life;
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing that I asked for
but everything that I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered,
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.
 
I will, I was a bit rushed for the coveted last Hail Mary, although I didn’t realize someone else was responding! 😆
