The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again
from the dead;

he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand
of God the Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge
the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.

bishops, and religious; unity in the Catholic Church;
reparations for blasphemies against the Blessed Mother;
devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus;

And: all who seek God; repentance; all who have strayed
from the faith; those who reject God; enemies of the Church;
those struggling with addiction; troubled families; victims
and perpetrators of domestic violence; refugees; those
considering abortions; those who have committed suicide;
those facing spiritual warfare;

And: the poor; the lonely; the grieving; the chronically ill;
the mentally ill; the suicidal; the elderly; caregivers; sexual
violence victims; peace, justice, mercy; respect for Creation;
the Holy Souls in Purgatory; anyone I’ve overlooked; and
intentions known to God alone.

And one of my favorite prayers, interestingly from a confederate soldier.

I asked for strength that I might achieve;
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.

I asked for health that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.

I asked for riches that I might be happy;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.

I asked for power that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life;
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.

I got nothing that I asked for
but everything that I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself my unspoken prayers were answered,
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.

How I wish I was able to join you guys in the past 2 days. But unfortunately, I don’t have any laptop or desktop at home, not even a telephone (seriously). I rely heavily on my cellphone.

By the way, I’m so glad to see the smooth flow of this thread and the sincere effort you put in praying for each other while I was away for a while. Clearly, the Holy Spirit is at work here. 😇😇😇

Most of all, I’d like to thank everybody who prayed for me from the bottom of my heart ❤️
