The 1st Sorrowful Mystery ~ “The Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane”

7th Hail Mary

Prayer is seeking the face of God.

This week I want to recommend one of the most ancient forms of Christian prayer — lectio divina , the prayerful reading of Sacred Scripture as a dialogue with God.

If prayer is conversation, then we need to listen to God as much as we talk to him. “When you read the Bible, God speaks to you,” St. Augustine said. “When you pray you speak to God.”
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is
with thee. Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us
sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death. Amen.

Intentions

For: intentions of CAF visitors, members, prayer and
Rosary warriors; victims of bias crimes;

And: repose of Frank’s soul; S. family; Matthew;
Linda M.; Linda P.; Margaret R.; Margaret D.; Kim; Dawn;
Judy; Jane; T. and family; my parish and friars; Michelle;
Mary P.; Father Peter and family; Carmelite nuns in
Colorado; Jeannene and family; baby Ezra; Janice’s
daughter; Nick;

And: increased vocations to diaconate, priesthood,
and religious life; unity in the Catholic Church; all who
seek God; all who have strayed from the faith; those who
reject God;

And: reparation for blasphemies against
the Blessed Mother; devotion to the Sacred Heart of
Jesus;

And: repentance of those who encourage abortions;
healing of women who’ve had abortions; women considering
abortions;

And: repentance of all involved with pornography;
victims of sex trafficking and prostitution;

And: the dying; the dead; the poor; the lonely;
the grieving; the sick; the injured; the chronically ill;
the mentally ill; the hungry; the elderly; those struggling
with addiction; troubled families; the unemployed;
refugees; caregivers; crime victims; those plagued by
spiritual warfare; peace, justice, mercy; respect for
Creation;

And: Holy Souls in Purgatory; anyone I’ve overlooked;
and intentions known to God alone.
