Fifth Luminous Mystery: the Institution of the Eucharist (Hail Mary 1)

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,

abortions; healing of women who’ve had abortions;
women considering abortions;

Medicare, and food stamp benefits in the U.S.;

And: the peace of Jerusalem; an end to persecution
of all minorities, immigrants, refugees, and other
marginalized people;

And: CAF staff, visitors, and members; prayer and
Rosary warriors;

And: repose of Frank’s soul; Linda P.; Margaret R.;
Linda M.; Margaret D.; Kim; Dawn; Judy; Jane; T.
and family; my parish and friars; Michelle; Mary P.;
Father Peter; Carmelite nuns in Colo.; Ezra; Janice’s
daughter; Nick; Krista; Shaun’s friend; Joan;

And: increased vocations to diaconate, priesthood,
and religious life; unity in the Church; fidelity
in marriage;

And: all who seek God; all who have strayed from
the faith; those who reject God;

And: reparation for blasphemies against the Blessed
Mother; devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus;

And: those who have been hurt, abused, neglected,
or insulted by laity, priests, or religious;

And: repentance of all involved with pornography;
victims of sex trafficking and prostitution;

And: military personnel; police officers; firefighters,
emergency medical technicians; first responders;

And: the dying; the dead; the poor; the lonely;
the grieving; the sick; the injured; the chronically ill;
the mentally ill; those with scrupulosity; the hungry;
the elderly; those with addictions; troubled families;
the unemployed; caregivers; crime victims; those
plagued by spiritual warfare; peace, justice, mercy;
respect for Creation;

And: The Holy Souls in Purgatory; anyone I’ve
overlooked; and intentions known to God alone.
 
For people who do not believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. May their eyes be opened.

For those battling mental illness and other illnesses that are not easily understood by others.

  1. Jesus comes with his disciples to Gethsemani: “Stay here, while I go yonder and pray.”
  2. Entering the garden with Peter, James, and John, Jesus prays, “My soul is sorrowful unto death.”
  3. Jesus sees the sins of all mankind, whose guilt He has taken upon Himself.
  4. He sees the wrath of the Father which His sufferings must appease.
  5. So great is his anguish that His sweat becomes as drops of blood falling to the ground.
  6. An angel appears to Him from heaven to strengthen Him.
  7. “Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet, not My will but Yours be done.”
  8. Finding the disciples asleep: “Could you not watch one hour with me?”
  9. Jesus is betrayed by Judas, cruelly bound and led away.
  10. Father, by the merits of the agony of Jesus in the Garden, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
