Okay cestus, well how about this for a report:
"In response to Muslim anger over the Pope’s comments, an internet priest named cestusdei called for employing nuclear weapons against cities where large numbers of Muslims live.
“It’s the only thing that will save us, and it’s perfectly permissible within the just war tradition. Catholic teaching allows us to kill these millions of people because if we don’t, they will kill us” said Cestusdei, a Priest of the Church.
“I’m spending all day long getting people to see that Muslims are not to be respected, so that when the time comes, my calls for nuclear attacks will be heeded” added cestusdei, as he sipped from a glass of Jesus’ blood.

Then you see nothing wrong with nukes eh pro? You certainly don’t mind when Muslims threaten us. The diff being that I have no wmd, but they apparently do. But I am glad you are getting into the swing of the thread. I must thank you. I was thinking of converting to Islam, but your example disuaded me.

Is this the same Cestusdei that used to post on Beliefnet’s Catholic C&C?
I seem to remember following some entertaining flame wars he was involved with there.
BTW, I agree with his premise here.

Oh we are no relation at all. I have heard about that guy. He was a lot meaner then I am.

Excellent analogy cestusdei. I think that Pro_Universal is a disorganized Whiner and that the Church is better for his leaving. He seems to be a great admirer of false Islam, so perhaps he will find his true home among the backward followers of Mohammed. Islam is a false, backward, medieval religion that has brought nothing but sorrow to the world. BTW, muslim terrorists murdered an innocent Italian nun in Somalia today (non-violently, of course.)

Somehow it wouldn’t surprise me if some Islamic media picked up and published the middle paragraphs of Cestusdei’s original post, just to inflame the public. Why is it that many middle eastern Muslims seem so intent on proving the West’s worst impressions of them?

Oh great, now I will be blamed again for starting another middle eastern war. That will look great on my resume.

Wow… I mean, wow…

Possibly the most anti-Christian statement I’ve ever seen on this board. Do you not think praying for him might be a better alternative?!

Truly scary.

If you wish to keep your faith, I’d recommend not talking to them. Eventually they’ll convince you that Christianity actually does sanction the things they say. I don’t know how many times I had to look people like that in the face before I realized that it wasn’t just the individuals that were on the wrong path.

Pro may not be a Muslim yet officially (we’ll never really know the truth on whether he already was), but at least he has the double-standards prerequisite down cold. Judge Christianity by the actions of individual followers, but you can’t do the same with Islam, right?? :rolleyes:

Right… it’s the entire Catholic Church? Including the rest of us who call ourselves Catholic? Is that what you believe?

If that’s the case, you DO need our prayers.

If you think that my post is anti-christian, read Pro_Universal’s posts here and on other forums. I stand by what I say, if he is a closet moslem, then he needs to join his brethren. I will certainly pray that his eyes are opened, but meantime I’ll tell it like it is.👍

Thank you for your concern. I’m secure enough in my faith that I’m not worried. Something that everyone needs to be aware of with a religious chat rooms like this is that by its very nature, it will tend to attract the most orthodox. Obviously, the more devout you are, the more likely you are to check out a site like this. It’s important that I and others like me stick around to demonstrate that there are other viewpoints, and that we’re Catholic too.

You are right, though. There comes a point when you’ve presented your argument, it’s up for people to see, and no one remaining is going to be convinced. You simply have to walk away. I find that a lot on the Apologetics board. I’m not generally used to defending Islam, but there is so much misinformation about this topic, I feel like I’m reading Jack Chick.

“Whether one is Hindu or a Muslim or a Christian, how you live your life is proof that you are or not fully His. We cannot condemn or judge or pass words that will hurt people. We don’t know in what way God is appearing to that soul and what God is drawing that soul to; therefor, who are we to condemn anybody?” - Blessed Mother Teresa

With all due respect to Blessed Mother Teresa, God does NOT draw anyone to the Muslim faith or the Hindu faith or any other faith apart from the Truth which is found only in Jesus Christ.

I stand by what I said. The Catholic Church is never better for someone leaving. Wouldn’t God be sad at any soul turning from the Church? I’d say the church is always worse for losing a member.

Luke, Chapter 15 (Revised Standard Version)
11: And he said, "There was a man who had two sons;
12: and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the share of property that falls to me.' And he divided his living between them. 13: Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took his journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in loose living. 14: And when he had spent everything, a great famine arose in that country, and he began to be in want. 15: So he went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, who sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16: And he would gladly have fed on the pods that the swine ate; and no one gave him anything. 17: But when he came to himself he said, How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, but I perish here with hunger!
18: I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you;
19: I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired servants.”’
20: And he arose and came to his father. But while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
21: And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22: But the father said to his servants, Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet;
23: and bring the fatted calf and kill it, and let us eat and make merry;
24: for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to make merry.
25: “Now his elder son was in the field; and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
26: And he called one of the servants and asked what this meant.
27: And he said to him, Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound.' 28: But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, 29: but he answered his father, Lo, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command; yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends.
30: But when this son of yours came, who has devoured your living with harlots, you killed for him the fatted calf!’
31: And he said to him, `Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.
32: It was fitting to make merry and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’”

Fair enough. She’s simply telling people that the “Christian” thing to do is treat them with respect.

I just recently told someone not to confuse the value of a person with the value of the religion that they follow. Of course, I was blasted again for in-then-thi-tivity… :o

I agree. I respect and love them enough to tell them that Jesus is the only way to the Father. And you are right, my actions and the way I live my life speaks much louder than my words. Mother Teresa is an excellent example for us to follow.

And I agree that Pro-universal needs our prayers. If he truly was Catholic and is leaving to become Muslim, his very soul is at stake. 😦

Actually, I think a better analogy would be if the Muslim leader said that Jesus brought nothing but evil to society.
Who needs the muslims? We have the left-wing Hollywood elite saying that very thing.

But you don’t see Christians putting out death sentences on movie stars. That’s because it is the teaching of Jesus to love our enemies and to pray for those who slander us.

In contrast, Mohammed (pbuh) taught his followers to kill anyone who would not suck up to him and his thugs.

Huge difference.

Paul (oops, I got the fatwa on me now, mama!)

Very nice. When he returns to the Church, we’ll kill the fatted calf. But meanwhile, he’ll be slopping the hogs. I think it’s called “invincible ignorance.”
