Stop bickering with Catholics all day long, stop bringing up the Crusades and saying nothing of murdered nuns, and men being forced to convert at gunpoint. Spend time learning your new faith and learn to dialogue with people instead of patronizing them, and inciting them. I know this will fall on deaf ears, but it’s worth a shot.

If you’ll notice, I’m not the one going around attacking people here. I criticize what I consider to be factually incorrect, angry statements against Islam. In fact, I’ve said at least three times this week how much respect I have for Catholic moral teaching and the tradition of the Church. I just don’t think it’s the full truth of God.

“Bickering” is people calling me a liar, fool, juvenile, etc etc over and over. Do you see me calling other people fake Catholics? Or calling them “right wing wingnuts”?

Amazing, not a word about the murdered nun, forced conversions, or threats to the pope. This nun spent her life helping Muslims only to be shot in the back by them. Not one word of denunciation. Just dodging the whole question.

Yours is an excellent summation of my view of pro_universal. He will not leave these threads though as long as he can get a response out of someone. Just add him to your ‘ignore’ list then you won’t have to read his tirades against Catholicism and hear about how Islam has never committed a crime or sin as long as it has existed.

mary bobo, I believe pro is upset because I said if they blow up NYC and DC that we should hit them where they live, in Mecca. Much as in the Cold War we had the doctrine of Mutually Assured Destruction. If the terrorists know that will be the result of using wmd on the USA then they will not do it. The consequences would be to great. They don’t want to see the Grand Mosque or Kaaba destroyed. It is called Deterence, again from the Cold War. It kept the old USSR at bay for decades. The idea is to disuade the enemy by making certain actions to costly to even consider. There is nothing new here other then the enemy we are fighting.

Pro disagrees with this and with any attempt to defend ourselves from terrorism. He never met a terrorist act that he could not ignore, defend, or justify. He does not mind it when Islam calls for the conquest of Rome or the beheading of the Pope. When they torture a Christian to death in a persecution he just denies it ever happened, even if there are pics. Nothing that any Muslim does is wrong from his perspective. Frankly I believe he is some kind of infiltrator either Muslim or just plain liberal America hater. He has never said a word about Islamic threats to use wmd on civilian targets in the US or Israel. So I don’t take his criticism seriously. He doesn’t mind nukes, so long as they are used against us. Hope that helps.

Here’s my take on Pro_Universal. He is a rather immature fellow who has few other outlets. He has found out that he can get a rise out of people by being a putz and it fills some kind of need for him. He is like a like a little kid who will settle for any kind of attention, positive or negative. So, deny him what he wants and simply do not reply to his posts. He will become bored and will hopefully go and annoy somebody else. Anything else just constitutes encouragement. 'Nuff said.

The issue, Pro, is that its not that you are arguing FOR something, you only argue against. This means you are arguing for argument sake.

Not a Catholic anymore… Renouning that you are Islamic. You are against everything and stand for nothing.

This is a juvinnal stance for you. This board is for “Non-Catholic Religions” Since you don’t support any defined religion…“Time for you to leave, Grasshopper!”

Of course I have a position. I am for a conciliatory, moderate stance towards Islam, and it is not for argument’s sake. I genuinely believe that anti-Islamic fervor is, if not curbed, going to get a lot of innocent people killed some day soon.

The only reason I mention it is that, when I was Catholic, it was terribly important to many posters what my religion was. I was called a liar, etc etc for claiming to be Catholic. So since my personal beliefs are in issue in these discussions, I make them clear up front.

Calling somebody a putz however is not part of what Jesus or his church teaches. As a Catholic we must have pateince and pray for those we know to be misled.

#Now folks, can you even IMAGINE something like that in todays world? I can’t. But that is what it would look like if we acted like they do. Just something to ponder.

ROFL, sounds like someone remembers the socalled peace movemnts. They were quite violent and at the same time claiming to do it in the name of peace.
 
The long and the short of it is that this really made the Muslims look bad. It is another nail in the coffin of dhimmitude. People are starting to say “what is the matter with those violent whiners and will they kill anyone who says anything they don’t like?” More and more Islam is getting a bad reputation and it’s all the Muslims doing. They don’t need me to say things about them. All I have to do is quote their own leaders and show pics of what they are doing.
