John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Does this warm your heart when you read it?

To me, it is beautiful because nothing or no one can defeat God. This verse alone gives me so much hope and I can’t wait to see Jesus.

Mark 6:11 is also a good one.

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Tim Tebow (or whatever his name is, that college football player) had it marked on his cheeks during the last game. I’m sure other players have done that too. Maybe John 3:16 is starting to get old.

One verse that means a lot to me:

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” [John 15:18]

Christ told His followers to suffer…then showed them how to do it. After that, they had no excuse for what they endured.
