Yes, and St. Nicholas of Myra is now in Heaven where his spirit can come back to Earth in multiple places at once (in the hearts of Christian parents around Christmas time–not just professing Christians, but also cultural Christians) and inspire people to give gifts to each other.

I’m afraid the North Pole and reindeer mythology is spurious. After all, people have visited the North Pole–although I am reminded of the Soviet cosmonaut who radioed from his capsule in orbit that he didn’t see Heaven up there.

Please let me introduce myself. I am forty-seven years old, with three children in their very late teens, an aerospace engineer with a PhD from an Ivy League university, and I believe in Santa. Obviously I do not believe most of the mythology that has grown up around him (like reindeer and the North Pole, although there is still some wiggle room there), but I would direct you to my post farther up on this thread.

I realize you don’t believe Jesus ever existed or that if He did He was just a fake. I realize you don’t believe He died for the world or that he rose again. But why do you seem to care so much that we believe those things?

I have not come across many genuine atheists. Most people that doubt God’s existence that I meet are agnostic. The atheists that I have come across are sometimes as zealous in their unbelief as extreme fundamentalists. So, I can only conclude that for some atheism is a religion in itself ,which is way they have a need to try and convince others that there is absolutely no God…

By the way, Santa does exists. So, your point isn’t being made on this particular forum. Maybe you could try some other imaginary being.
