My husband makes me laugh.

He has more integrity than anyone I’ve ever known.

He is the best friend I’ve ever had.

My heart beats faster when he walks into a room because he is so gorgeous.

He loves God and tries SO HARD to be who God wants Him to be.

He tells me after every meal that it is the best I’ve ever made 🙂

He lives just to snuggle with his little ones climbing all over him on the floor.

He puts pony tails in his little girls’ hair…dresses barbies…and paints his daughter’s nails when Mummy and sisters are busy.

He is unfailingly faithful and hardworking.

HE’S THE GREATEST BLESSING IN MY LIFE

He sits at our dinner table and asks, “Who’s missing…this table seems a little empty”? Now, if a man with 10 children (9 of them home and AT THE TABLE) can smile at the end of a 14 hour work day, and ask that…I LOVE HIM!!!

My husband and I have been married for nearly 20 years.

It has not been easy. He was verbally abusive for many of those years, but when I finally took steps to make him stop and get help, he changed. He worked hard to change because he realized he was going to lose me, and he loved me. He didn’t realize how cruel he had been. And I do still love him.

He works up to 70 hours a week and hands me his paycheck, asking for only $100 for the week for gas and lunches. I get to stay home with the baby and take care of our home.

He doesn’t go out with friends because he prefers the company of his family.

He likes to read the same books as me, just to have great discussions about them afterward.

He prays the rosary on his way to work every day, without fail.

He leads the family in prayer at each meal and when he is home leads the younger children in their bedtime prayers. Sometimes, if he catches the older (teens) kids going to bed, he’ll pray with them from the hallway, so as not to embarrass them or make them feel like babies.

He calls me from work just to make sure we’re all okay and ask if we need milk.

The first thing he does when he gets home late at night is check on his baby girl. He’s so protective of her and she is madly in love with him. He changes her diaper, covers her well to make sure she’s warm and comfortable, and gets her a drink if she wakes up.

He does a lot of things~ metal detecting, hunting, fishing, kite flying, beach combing for sea glass, hiking, video games, reading aloud, working on the cars, sunday drives checking out cool new places off the beated path~ all with his family beside him.

He takes a family vote before making big decisions. It’s nice to know he takes all of our thoughts, desires and needs into consideration.

I know with all my heart he is completely faithful to me and he knows with all of his that I am faithful to him. There has never been any doubt.

When I want to make donations or help someone out he only says “Do whatever you need to do. I trust you.”

My husband knows everything about me and loves me anyway;) He is a fabulous father and a very caring partner. He made my daughter his and made our family complete. He works hard and honors me at every turn. I cannot imagine my life without him in it:heart:

Aww, what a great idea! I was thinking recently about how sad it was so many people were posting negative things about their husbands and this is just the ticket to balance that out 👍

My husband is tall, dark, and handsome - he has a butt chin that I tease him about but would never change it if I could.

He eats what I cook like he’s a starving man and always says how good it is. He’s getting the gut to prove it too and we’ve only been married four months  I’ve restricted his portions btw, hehe.

As I was doing dishes tonight he came in to dry them and I told him he didn’t have to do that because he just finished mowing. All he said was “I know” and proceeded to smile and dry the dishes.

We don’t have kids yet, but he’ll most likely be a good father just like he is a good spouse.

The best thing of all about him is he is the best bedwarmer I could ask for. He only complains a little when I wrap my freezing self around him at night – the only downside is he swears he’s going to send me to the doctor to check my circulation because “seriously, nobody can be that cold and still be alive!!!”

That is so beautiful. When you have a child from a prior relationship things are often complicated, my daughter is from a previous marriage. My husband says that his “girls are his life.” My daughter adores him, which say so much to me. He keeps me grounded when I get a bit flighty. He always gets me to know that everything will be ok. He told me when we first started dating that “He has been in love with me since the 6th grade,” and he meant it. We re met at our high school reunion. He is a strong knowledgeable Catholic. He tells me everyday how much he loves me, even though he is from a family that doesn’t do that. He took me to see Faith Hill and Tim McGraw for my birthday, even though he HATES Country music.

Overall, he is the first man I have ever “wanted” to be in my life. For awhile I thought it was about “needing” someone. Then I wised up. I thank God for him everyday!

I forgot to add that he is the most handsome man I know (well him and my dad 🙂 ) He is also the coolest guy I know. He has taught me so much just by being who he is. He fascinates me.

My husband shows his love for me by doing little things for me that I could/should be able to do for myself. Like…
Fill my car with gas when I am on empty and didn’t fill up on my way home (he will go out after dinner so I don’t have to do it in the morning.)
He will get up out of bed and get me a drink of water even though he had just stated that “he had found the perfect sleeping position”
As I was reading CF, just before I started to post, he gave me a 5 minute shoulder rub
Anytime he gets up to get something, he always asks if I need anything
He lets me pick where we will eat (I always make sure to pick a place he likes)
When I have had a busy/crazy day, he will cook dinner and clean up the dishes

These are just some of the many little reasons that I love my husband and how I know he loves me 👍
Dear Mom to 3:)
Your post was my favourite 🙂
Like Nanny I am not married… and having been in love only once with the totally wrong person I know it will take a miracle… so when I read all your posts I look at a string of miracles and I have a longing in my heart … You are so blessed that you get to lavish your love on your beloved …
I better stop before I get soft on ya’ll 😛

After 11 yrs DH now makes a point to warm me up at night and in the mornings now that it is spring and the windows are open at night. 😃

My dh is the best…
He is always doing random acts of kindness for me like making me a cd of my favorite music…
He does the dishes/cleans up anytime I ask
He does diaper changing duty and middle of the night duty anytime I ask
He works hard at work so I can stay at home with our little monkey
He prays with me, attends mass with me and overall keeps my faith in line and helps me strive towards holiness
He is cheerful and giving and loving and always thinking of others
Did I mention he is my best friend. a great listener and very sexy???🙂

 Awwww! Now that’s a great guy you got there! 👍

It sounds as if we have been pretty fortunate with our husbands, doesn’t it? 🙂

My dh and I have been together since we were 18, and married since we were 21 - coming up on our 34th anniversary in June. We have both grown so much since then.

He is completely loyal and loves spending time with me and our daughters.

He makes the bed and empties the dishwasher every morning without being asked.

He will do little things (filling my car with gas, etc.) to make things easier.

He makes me feel pretty and desirable, even though I don’t often feel that way much anymore.

He is a good Catholic and a man of great integrity.

He is generous and gives of his time, even when it is inconvenient.

He is kind-hearted and a real softie…loves babies, puppies and kittens.

He truly misses us when he is gone.

He loves travel as much as I do.

He speaks up for what he believes, even when there is a price.

He is a terrific example (his job is much more public than most.)

He loves to come home after a long day (often gone by 8:30 and not home until nearly 10:30.)

He was good to his parents, and to mine.

He is smart, funny and a great companion. Not to mention very cute - still!

I showed this thread to my DH yesterday and showed him my post.

He teared up! He said, “I’m glad you feel that way about me.”

Turns out he’d been having a bummer of a day–one of those days where everything goes wrong and nobody has a nice word for you–and his self-esteem was in the basement.

Needless to say, it improved his mood considerably!

😉 I sent a link to my hubby too. I got a knock-you-off-your-feet smooch out of it! 😃 I told him I figured I’d better 'fess up and let him know how I talk about him behind his back. 😛

While I have been SO INSPIRED and enjoying the BEAUTIFUL posts that have been written so lovingly about our husbands;

I got to thinking, while making the beds today…that perhaps there is someone out there who has read the posts; but felt that she (theoretical person) couldn’t post due to a trouble marriage.

I know that sometimes marriage can be so difficult; that finding something nice or loving to say seems truly impossible.

I hope you don’t mind me inserting this little message…and I certainly don’t want to “bring down” the JOY of the thread…

But I just wanted to offer a kind word to anyone out there who might not be feeling this way in their marriage right now…I offered a prayer for whomever you are today…and hope that reading these wonderful posts brings you HOPE in your own marriage.

Just a thought 🙂 Hope no one minds that I put it here 🙂

God Bless You All

My husband gets up with the kids every day so I can sleep a little extra. And he never makes me unload the dishwasher. Doesn’t get much better than that. 🙂

For my 40th birthday last Sunday, DH decided to take the whole week off this week to be with me. He made me my favorite breakfast from scratch (belgium waffles), got me a cheesecake on my actual bday as well as Chinese food then the next day got me a cake to take to my folks for dinner. Yesterday, he made me his famous pizza from scratch along with chicken wings. They were absolutely the BEST!!! 👍

He also gave me a digital camera to start a new hobby as well as a mini make over a few weeks before (I had my eyebrows done, got my hair cut into a bob, and highlighted light blonde). 😃

I am truly blessed to have such an awesome husband because he will always go out of his way to take extra care of me when my Crohn’s disease flares and is a wonderful spiritual example in our household. 🙂

This is so inspiring! Thank you duskyjewel!

I have been preoccupied the last several days making a prom dress for dd1 and dh has handled dinner and picking up dd2 from soccer for me.

He loves me in all my insanity and makes my faults seem like good things.

he makes me laugh, usually at the times I need it most.

He tells me that I’m more beautiful than the day we met, frequently, even though that was 20 years ago and many pounds ago.

He is a good man, in the traditional sense, loving, strong, deep, moral, compassionate and true to himself, our family and God.

He has been a strong (not strong armed) force in bringing me to the Catholic faith.

He married and stayed with me even though his mil is a serious nut job and having full knowlege of such.

He loves my cooking and lets me know it.

He appreciates the things I do and tells me so.

He talks me up to others, even when I am not around.

He was dancing a silly dance in his pajama pants and unmatching shirt in the kitchen the other day and the dd’s made a comment that he was a nerd-to stop that, he responded ‘It’s ok, mom loves me’. It made me cry, the good kind.

He is proud of me and our kids, and tells anyone who will listen.

He is my best friend.

He is our dough man for our Saturday night family pizza nights.

When he left for his last deployment, that night when I opened my Bible for my reading, I found a sticky note that said “this is another test in our marriage that we already have the answers to”.

And he is incredibly HOT!!

Well, I’m not married yet, but here are the things I appreciate about my future husband.

He is so loving and supportive of his family and friends. When somebody has a problem, he’s the first one they call. Sometimes the burden of it gets him down, but he’d never let a loved one down if he had the power to help them.

He loves children so much! He makes coochie-coo noises at every baby he sees, and he gets that faraway look in his eyes. He’s strongly pro-life and pro-family.

He supports me in my hopes and dreams for the future. When I’m feeling down, like I can’t finish my degree, he’s the one who reminds me of all the reasons I started it - even though it’s one of the primary reasons why we’re waiting to get married and start a family.

He’s enthusiastic and loves life. Despite all the hardships he experiences, he takes so much joy from the simple pleasures in life.

He works hard. When there’s work to be done, he doesn’t whine about it or expect others to fix his problems - he just gets it done. And when he’s done work, he puts just as much passion and energy into his hobbies, friendships, family, and relationship with me.

He tells me he loves me all the time. He sends me half a dozen messages a day, asking me how my day is going, telling me he cares about me, telling me he misses me.

He inspires me to be a better person. It’s because of him that I want to join the Church. Whenever I think of something nice to do, I think of him and feel pulled to do something even nicer.

And he’s good-looking - my heart beats faster just looking at him. And did I mention that he asked me for my ring size last week? :extrahappy:

Yup, he’s the one for me!

I gotta say me an DH have been fighting like cats and dogs lately due to stresses of new job and new baby comeing ect. however I just cant stay mad at him. He never lets me go to bed angry even when I am determined to and insists on discussing things when my instincts are to clam up.
He has lived an extraordinary life which is inspirational to many, and has a strong desire to know god (even though he is not practicing his catholic faith-he is close to comeing back).
