Neither do the added verses disprove the Eucharist.I added a few more verses that should help. Please look again at my previous post.

Are you trying to say only Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians have the Spirit of God since they alone eat the literal body and drink the literal blood of Jesus Christ? If you answer yes, how can Protestants be your seperated brethren? And St. Paul explained what was meant by verse 63 as you’ve posted above.
Act 8:27 And rising up, he went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch, of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge over all her treasures, had come to Jerusalem to adore.
Act 8:28 And he was returning, sitting in his chariot and reading Isaias the prophet.
Act 8:29 And the Spirit said to Philip: Go near and join thyself to this chariot.
Act 8:30 And Philip running thither, heard him reading the prophet Isaias. And he said: Thinkest thou that thou understandest what thou readest?
Act 8:31 Who said: And how can I, unless some man shew me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
Act 8:32 And the place of the scripture which he was reading was this: He was led as a sheep to the slaughter: and like a lamb without voice before his shearer, so openeth he not his mouth.
Act 8:33 In humility his judgment was taken away. His generation who shall declare, for his life shall be taken from the earth?
Act 8:34 And the eunuch answering Philip, said: I beseech thee, of whom doth the prophet speak this? Of himself, or of some other man?
Act 8:35 Then Philip, opening his mouth and beginning at this scripture, preached unto him Jesus.
Act 8:36 And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water. And the eunuch said: See, here is water: What doth hinder me from being baptized?
Act 8:37 And Philip said: If thou believest with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answering, said: I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Act 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still. And they went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch. And he baptized him.
Act 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord took away Philip: and the eunuch saw him no more. And he went on his way rejoicing.
Act 8:40 But Philip was found in Azotus: and passing through, he preached the gospel to all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.
I am agreeing with Peter that only the person who has been born from above, and through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, He illuminates truth of the Scriptures over a lifetime to those who are united to Christ. Peter no way writes, nor does Paul that a religious institution (Roman Catholic Church, Mormon Church, etc) is how God illuminates truth.Back on track with sola scriptura, even though it appears that Reformed is now trying to dodge that subject.
Why did God inspire St. Peter to write the difficulties of everyone understanding what was written in epistles, specifically St. Paul’s?
We are discussing sola scriptura. Your questions above are an attempt to sway away from that discussion. Why is that? Are you trying to say only Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians have the Spirit of God since they alone eat the literal body and drink the literal blood of Jesus Christ? If you answer yes, how can Protestants be your seperated brethren?
I have participated in several masses, and the elements look like ordinary wine and bread to me. I bet there is a good percentage of Roman Catholics who do not believe that the elements change to the actual flesh and the literal blood of Jesus Christ, don’t you agree?
WE are discussing sola scriptura. You are doing everything you can to avoid the topic of the thread. We are speaking of the remnant chosen by grace throughout redemptive history. The Church is not exclusively the Roman Catholic denomination.
I haven’t followed much of the discussion on the thread, so forgive me if I duplicate answers already given.Let’s list all the Christian doctrine that can be defended using only sola scriptura. Some have proof on both sides, for and against. Let’s see how many we can get that are one sided.
I’ll start.
Jesus was born of a virgin.
John 21:25Sola Scriptura (as defined by orthodox, Reformation Protestantism)
Rigged? Do you mean by rigged we have presented an argument you cannot debate against?I’ll leave you Roman Catholic Christians alone on this thread while you play the Sola Scriptura game. The game is rigged. Maybe some LDS Christians would like to play along too. Have fun!
BTW…TriuneUnity represents my beliefs in this game too in my absents. :bounce:
Where does the Roman Catholic Church provide the things Jesus said and did that wasn’t recorded?John 21:25
Can you show where Paul was teaching papal infalliblity, the immaculate conception, the assumption, the intercession of the saints, and the sacrifice of the Mass to the Thessalonians?2 Thessalonians 2:15
LOL I appreciate the kind words.I have a lot of respect for TriuneUnity as he will not run from a discussion. I also remember your questions to him when he did not represent your beliefs. Wasn’t it along the lines of, “when do you plan to become Catholic?”
Hello Triune BTW.![]()
School has been keeping me pre-occupied. I look forward to more with you in the future. I had to pop in and throw in my two cents when I saw Reformed derailing the thread with his unsupported assertions.
Not a problemI apologize to the OP for taking a defensive position against Reformed’s attempt to make unsupported assertions, thus making us both guilty of derailing the thread.![]()
Giving to the less fortunate is a Christian doctrine that can be found in the Bible…Triune…I’m still waiting for my check from the Vatican).
Okay, then, my middle name is Russell…which in old English means “Less Fortunate One.”Giving to the less fortunate is a Christian doctrine that can be found in the Bible…Triune…![]()
The issue at hand, or at least what I wanted it to be, is anything that we can only support one side of from the Scriptures. Most of these are good.I haven’t followed much of the discussion on the thread, so forgive me if I duplicate answers already given.
Sola Scriptura (as defined by orthodox, Reformation Protestantism)
The Holy Trinity
God’s eternal decree
Creation
Providence
Sin
The virgin birth
The crucifixion/substitutionary atonement
the resurrection
the ascension
Baptism
The Lord’s Supper
The moral Law
Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, on account of Christ alone
Sanctification
The second coming
the resurrection of the dead
the final judgment
I’m not giving examples of Tradition, I was just showing how Sola Scripura is not in the Bible (very ironic) and that the Bible actually says quite the opposite.Where does the Roman Catholic Church provide the things Jesus said and did that wasn’t recorded?
Can you show where Paul was teaching papal infalliblity, the immaculate conception, the assumption, the intercession of the saints, and the sacrifice of the Mass to the Thessalonians?
