2Cor 5 I know regarding vs 6 SDAs say the Apostle Paul did not say when we will be absent from our earthly bodies and with the Lord in our new heavenly bodies. But he did say in vs 1 when will we have a house with the Lord… when we die.

According to the Bible and if you disagree please provide scripture. If not, there is no purpose in posting without using God’s Word as proof. 🙂 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

Why do we (people) continue to say you go immediately to Heaven or Hell, when the Bible plainly says a person returns to the dust after he/she has died (sleep/slept)

Job 7:21 And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be

Psalms 13:3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Thessalonians 4:14, 15 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

1 Corinthians 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

If you would like to disagree, that’s fine. But please provide atleast 3 unbiased scriptures/opinion to back you answer.
TruthSeeker123-

I see that you have identified yourself as a Christian. Could you be more specific? What faith community or denomination are you a member of?

Thanks.

Do you agree or disagree. If you disagree, please provide scripture.

Also, my denomination has nothing to do with following the Word of God. Having a title does not save you. But believing on Jesus Christ and keeping His commandments, I shall be saved.

If I tell you my denomination, what does that profit you? Especially if I follow the Law of God.

It doesn’t profit anyone anything. What I do notice when reading your various posts and threads is that you are very much like a dear friend of mine who is Jehovah’s Witness. We will never agree and this person will never convince me that I should convert.

With much charity I say this to you. You have your way of believing and I have mine. We have both made our choices no matter what they are. I don’t know what denomination you are and I don’t care. I am Catholic and I am happy being Catholic. I know you like to post many Bible verses and that’s your thing. I wish you blessings in whatever it is you are seeking. :harp:

When Christ spoke to the thief on his right and told him “this day you will be with me in Paradise” he meant that day. The kione greek is clear, clearer than english is on the correct time tense. The Adventists sects and spin-offs (including the JW’s & WWCoG) are WRONG in claiming Jesus meant "this day I am telling you, you will be with me in Paradise.
**
For clarification, “Paradise” is NOT the same as Heaven–Paradise almost certainly means the “Bosom of Abraham”-- a degree of Purgatory where there is no longer any suffering for attachment for sin, but no mortal soul could enter Heaven until after Christ’s Asscension.**
Absolutely true. As a protestant, this was the very first word I looked up in my Strong’s Concordance.

Easy enough an evangelical could figure it out.

Let’s be clear. I seek TRUTH from the BIBLE. I’m not try to “convert” you, though it would be nice for you to see that a lot of catholic beliefs go against the Word of God (I can go further but I do not want to cause chaos and be band). God gives you free will and He gave you life, so it is not me you have to answer to.

Please remember my dear friend. Those scriptures that I post is what you are judge of. It is written.

If I know your language, we can have a conversation. Why keep it secret?

To add another thing, I honestly am not trying to convert anyone, but share my non catholic faith.

I don’t speak for all protestants. I do this and it would be nice if you did it as well. If you do nothing else, please read the KJV and compare it to catholic beliefs. That’s all I ask of you. You will see a big difference.

Have you not read:

Luk 23:42 And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingdom.

Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, **Today you will be with Me in Paradise. **

Now let me ask you this. If you went from hanging on a cross to die, to being in paradise, would you sleep? Or would you be alive and awake rejoicing, praising the one that brought you to paradise?

I don’t see anywhere that Jesus said you’re going to sleep through it all.

At the beginning of Christian History, the Catholic Church gave you your Scriptures. If the Catholic Church selected which books would be considered Scripture, what would it profit us to not believe in it? You are goofy if you think we believe something against the Bible.
We believe the whole Bible. Not just some proof texts taken out of context. Catholic Christianity is 2,000 years old and it is the*** full ***Gospel.

.
Is this a faith you made up yourself? Or do you share it with others?

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,* and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” **
2 Timothy 4:3-4

What makes you think I have not read the KJV of the Bible? I converted to Catholicism from being a Baptist. :harp:

Remember, the KJV came from the Catholic Bible.

The KJV doesn’t contain the fullness of the Catholic Bible considering there were several books removed.

Maybe you should try reading a Catholic Bible and compare it to your beliefs.

You might also want to try reading some of the writings of the Early Church Fathers, to gain a better understanding of it all.

I agree, I have one also. It came from my grandfather, who happened to be a Presbyterian minister.

I was Methodist at the time.

I still have it, and I still cherish it.

My question to you, books removed, was the text changed?

Also, since I do not have a “catholic” bible, can you tell me some things that are said in those missing books. I would like to know.

Where in the Bible does it say that the KJV translation is the only acceptable translation?

And where in the Bible does it say that all teachings must be *explicitly *taught in the Bible?
