Have you not read:

Luk 23:42 And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingdom.

Luk 23:43 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, **Today you will be with Me in Paradise. **

Now let me ask you this. If you went from hanging on a cross to die, to being in paradise, would you sleep? Or would you be alive and awake rejoicing, praising the one that brought you to paradise?

I don’t see anywhere that Jesus said you’re going to sleep through it all.
Oh wow, you used that one.

Do you agree that Jesus died, rested, and rose from the dead?

Also, since I do not have a “catholic” bible, can you tell me some things that are said in those missing books. I would like to know.
Here is a link to the Catholic Bible online:

usccb.org/nab/bible/index.shtml

You can compare the difference in the books there, and also research the books that are missing from the KJV.

I might also add that many of the newer KJV’s are including these again, in an addenda form, and not in the original order they were placed.

Okay thanks…lol

But I really want to talk to you about your post “today you…paradise”

Is that okay?

According to the Bible and if you disagree please provide scripture. If not, there is no purpose in posting without using God’s Word as proof. 🙂 PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

Why do we (people) continue to say you go immediately to Heaven or Hell, when the Bible plainly says a person returns to the dust after he/she has died (sleep/slept)

Job 7:21 And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be

Psalms 13:3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

1 Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1 Thessalonians 4:14, 15 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

2 Peter 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

1 Corinthians 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

If you would like to disagree, that’s fine. But please provide atleast 3 unbiased scriptures/opinion to back you answer.
God is NOT the God of death He is the God of living Mark 12:26-27 Are spirit lives for ever., If you do not believe in the tritiy just verse will not help you this verse is for Charitian only

I never said that people weren’t taken to Heaven. I said death mens sleep.

Enoch was taken to Heaven, but that does not take away from the fact that death means sleep. Jesus died, and was RESURRECTED. He was not taken straight to Heaven. But he defeated satan and death.

Please stop asking about my denomination. It does not profit you anything. The only thing that matters hear is the Word of God.

So does that mean you aren’t going to do the research?

You asked a question, were given the resources. The rest is up to you.

Many of you accuse me of running but I am here to talk about it, isn’t that what you wanted? Lets talk.

Here you go:
1 Matthew 5:22
But I say to you, that whosoever is angry with his brother, shall be in danger of the judgment. And whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council. And whosoever shall say, Thou Fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

2 Matthew 5:29
And if thy right eye scandalize thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee. For it is expedient for thee that one of thy members should perish, rather than that thy whole body be cast into hell.

3 Matthew 5:30
And if thy right hand scandalize thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is expedient for thee that one of thy members should perish, rather than that thy whole body be cast into hell.

4 Matthew 10:28
And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell.

5 Matthew 11:23
And thou Capharnaum, shalt thou be exalted up to heaven? thou shalt go down even unto hell. For if in Sodom had been wrought the miracles that have been wrought in thee, perhaps it had remained unto this day.

6 Matthew 16:18
And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

7 Matthew 18:9
And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee. It is better for thee having one eye to enter into life, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

8 Matthew 23:15
Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves.

9 Matthew 23:33
You serpents, generation of vipers, how will you flee from the judgment of hell?

10 Mark 9:42
And if thy hand scandalize thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into unquenchable fire:

11 Mark 9:44
And if thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter lame into life everlasting, than having two feet, to be cast into the hell of unquenchable fire:

12 Mark 9:46
And if thy eye scandalize thee, pluck it out. It is better for thee with one eye to enter into the kingdom of God, than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire:

13 Luke 10:15
And thou, Capharnaum, which art exalted unto heaven, thou shalt be thrust down to hell.

14 Luke 12:5
But I will shew you whom you shall fear: fear ye him, who after he hath killed, hath power to cast into hell. Yea, I say to you, fear him.

15 Luke 16:22
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom. And the rich man also died: and he was buried in hell.

16 Acts Of Apostles 2:24
Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the sorrows of hell, as it was impossible that he should be holden by it.

17 Acts Of Apostles 2:27
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, nor suffer thy Holy One to see corruption.

18 Acts Of Apostles 2:31
Foreseeing this, he spoke of the resurrection of Christ. For neither was he left in hell, neither did his flesh see corruption.

19 James 3:6
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is placed among our members, which defileth the whole body, and inflameth the wheel of our nativity, being set on fire by hell.

20 2 Peter 2:4
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but delivered them, drawn down by infernal ropes to the lower hell, unto torments, to be reserved unto judgment:

21 Apocalypse 1:18
And alive, and was dead, and behold I am living for ever and ever, and have the keys of death and of hell.

22 Apocalypse 6:8
And behold a pale horse, and he that sat upon him, his name was Death, and hell followed him. And power was given to him over the four parts of the earth, to kill with sword, with famine, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

23 Apocalypse 20:13
And the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and hell gave up their dead that were in them; and they were judged every one according to their works.

24 Apocalypse 20:14
And hell and death were cast into the pool of fire. This is the second death

If death means sleep, did Moses just nap? Because Scripture tells us that Moses died. . .and Scripture also tells us that Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus on the Mountain and was seen by Peter, James, and John.

Elijah is okay by your theory because he ‘went to heaven in a whirlwind’. But Moses DIED. So Moses should have been sleeping.

Also, Scripture tells us that Lazarus and the rich man not only saw each other, but Abraham was there too, and spoke to the rich man. But wasn’t Abraham ASLEEP by your theory? If he was asleep, why did Jesus speak of Abraham talking with dead people?

The transfiguration. Moses was resurrected, just like Jesus was resurrected. Elijah represents those who will be taken to Heaven while stile alive or the 144,000 spoken of in Revelation if you care to read and Moses represents those who will be resurrected also spoken of in Revelation if you care to read.

Also, again Moses died and was resurrected. He by the definition of the Bible was asleep. Just like before resurrected.

I have a link for you about Lazarus and the rich man. Do you want the link?

So Moses was resurrected before Jesus, AND then what? Did he go back to sleep?

If he didn’t, then there are people in heaven. . .at least, Moses and Elijah. . .who aren’t walking around asleep. . .and also, the passage says nothing about Moses and Elijah representing people as you state. Where did you learn the teaching about this representation?

Also, again Moses died and was resurrected. He by the definition of the Bible was asleep. Just like before resurrected. Scripture doesn’t say that.

I have a link for you about Lazarus and the rich man. Do you want the link?
My computer is pretty old and doesn’t do links all that well. . .but if you want to PM me and enclose the message that the link gives in the body of the PM that would be all right. Unfortunately, probably I couldn’t get Schlowy (my computer) to handle just the link alone!

I have done the research, but do you want to talk about it?
Many of you accuse me of running but I am here to talk about it, isn’t that what you wanted? Lets talk.
You’ve research all of the missing books from your Bible already? Boy you’re quick.

Trust me, I am very familiar with your tactics.

You asked for scripture, you were given scripture.

You were given additional research resources, please avail yourself of them.

1 Peter 3:18-20 (New International Version)
18For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 19through whom[a] also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 20who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water,

Doesn’t sound like he was sleeping to me.

This scripture clearly indicates that Christ’s earthly body died, but his spirit was alive.
No indication of rest is there?

I was figuring JW or SDA, but I agree it sure appears he is aligned with SDA.

Okay thanks…lol
Why is that funny? Someone is offering information you requested and you laugh and then deflect? It all sounds pretty disingenuous to me. I’m all for open dialogue, but you seem to be playing ping pong … throw out a comment so someone can hit it back to you, all the while you’re poised for the next shot. If you are truly interested, there are actually bibles available that will compare the two versions side by side.

Sola Scriptura aside, since you seem to so readily discount it regardless of the logic involved. Often we find answers as we better understand our history. Here is a Bible Museum that deals in rare Bibles, whose goal is to preserve the historic accuracy of the Bible. You will find it here: greatsite.com/, there is a tab at the top that takes you to the history of the english bible. You can find a wonderful overall history of the Bible here: greatsite.com/timeline-english-bible-history/#timeline

Here are two excerpts from their site:

“American Standard Version Bible (often referred to as the N.A.S.V. orN.A.S.B. or N.A.S.). This New American Standard Bible is considered by nearly all evangelical Christian scholars and translators today, to be the most accurate, word-for-word translation of the original Greek and Hebrew scriptures into the modern English language that has ever been produced. It remains the most popular version among theologians, professors, scholars, and seminary students today. Some, however, have taken issue with it because it is so direct and literal a translation (focused on accuracy), that it does not flow as easily in conversational English.”

“In 1982, Thomas Nelson Publishers produced what they called the “New King James Version”. Their original intent was to keep the basic wording of the King James to appeal to King James Version loyalists, while only changing the most obscure words and the Elizabethan “thee, thy, thou” pronouns. This was an interesting marketing ploy, however, upon discovering that this was not enough of a change for them to be able to legally copyright the result, they had to make more significant revisions, which defeated their purpose in the first place. It was never taken seriously by scholars, but it has enjoyed some degree of public acceptance, simply because of its clever “New King James Version” marketing name.”

Reading this, which one sounds like a more accurate resource to you?

Nobody was ressurected before Jesus. That’s not sound.

I’ve read Revelation. Entirely. Various times. It’s only speculated who those two men are. Neither have been named. NOWHERE does it say in the Bible or elsewhere, “Elijah represents…the 144,000”. That is your own private interpretation.

Also, for the Catholic Bible, since you seem to be KJV only: www.drbo.org
