I’m sure many people have heard this argument from secular sources before, but why is it that Catholics and most other Christian faiths ignore so much of the laws written out in Leviticus, but still like to quote the one line that forbids homosexuality?
Why is there not a similar outrage over cross breed dogs (like the labradoodle)* or cotton-poly blend shirts or having a vegetable garden as are all explicitly forbidden in Leviticus 19:19? Tattoos and shaving are the usual examples, but it gets more attention when you point out that Spandex bicycle shorts are a sin
*One could argue that since they are both dogs, they are not of a different species. So if you want, replace that example with a mule – as a horse and donkey are not different breeds of the same species. However, I personally think the idea of a custom made designer pet is a bit unsettling.
I also apologize if this is the 1.5 millionth time this has been brought up. I’m somewhat new here and don’t want to resurrect a dead thread to discuss this.

The concern that the Catholic Church has about denouncing immoral acts is not limited to homosexuality; it just happens that homosexuals have twisted themselves into the very fabric of society–not only that but they actively seek to eradicate everything and anyone who does not accept their immoral acts (I would even go as far as to say that they need to have the Catholic Church pronounce their unnatural acts as an acceptable alternative to heterosexuality–that’s how grand their ego is).
Interestingly enough, I’ve noticed that the proponents of homosexuality become Jewish when citing Scriptures that denounces such unnatural acts as they purposely ignore all of the New Testament Scriptures that not only support the Old Testament’s but completely and permanently rejects not only the acts and those who participate in them but those who, acclaiming political correctness or empathizing with the poor underdogs, approve of homosexuality and the people who engage in it:
22 For, professing themselves to be wise, they became fools… 24 Wherefore, God gave them up to the desires of their heart, unto uncleanness: to dishonour their own bodies among themselves… 26 For this cause, God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. 27 And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts, one towards another: men with men, working that which is filthy and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error… 29 Being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness: full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity: whisperers, 30 Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents… 31 Foolish, dissolute: without affection, without fidelity, without mercy… 32 Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death: and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them. (Romans 1:22-32–DRV)
…though some of the prescriptions from the Old Testament seem superfluous… I believe that there is some deeper meaning (as maintaining the purity of a garment to be worn only by Priests or to separate God’s people form those around them or to maintain the annointing oils from being used in idol worship, etc.); but nothing in nature can achieve man’s potential:
2 Dearly beloved, we are now the sons of God: and it hath not yet appeared what we shall be. We know that when he shall appear we shall be like to him: because we shall see him as he is. (1 St. John 3:2–DRV)
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot possess the kingdom of God: neither shall corruption possess incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery. We shall all indeed rise again: but we shall not all be changed. 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall rise again incorruptible. And we shall be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:50-52–DRV)
…so you see, sin (corruption) will not be part of the Kingdom of Heaven and that’s why the Church is so adamant on Teaching us to reject sin (which includes all immoral acts), in order that we may inherit Eternal Life!
