I was just pointing out the inconsistency of the analogy. However, I assume you’d feel the same about acknowledging marriages you believed are not valid.
There is a reason why we have canon lawyers and length processes for determining marriage validity, because it is complicated. If I knew for a fact that it was invalid however, and it was announced as such, just like “I’m transgender” then that is quite different. I would speak in accord with what I know for a fact is true.

You really are in the wrong line of work, then. That kind of behavior would get you fired pretty quickly in many places. Especially if you work in HR.

What kind of behavior? Calling a man a man? A woman a woman?

You aren’t looking for advice, you are looking for affirmation. You are trying too hard to be a victim. I’d suggest finding a new line of work.

There are times that I have to see porn at work (yes, you read that right) for HR investigations or cyber security incident response activities. I don’t seek it out, I don’t look at porn as a hobby on my own time, but I know it’s a potential hazard of the job. If it bothered me enough, I’d ask to be reassigned or look for a new job.

I was looking for advice and it’s nice to have affirmation too. I’m not trying to be the victim, but thanks for the suggestion, I won’t be finding a new line of work anytime soon.

Having to detect whether an employee is accessing porn is not the same as being told to call an apple an orange, figuratively.

Presumably, you don’t work only with Catholics, who would engage in a canon law process.
If Sue is a Protestant who is in a second marriage (no Tribunal, no decision of invalidity), would you be comfortable with HR policies that require referring to her invalid (per the Church) partner as her husband?

It is not one factor alone, but your sex is determined by chromosomes, and other genetic qualities, size and shape of bone structure, and other forensic characteristics.
And what authority has determined this? To the best of my knowledge, neither the Bible nor the CCC say anything about “forensic characteristics.”

If your company workplace really stresses you that much my advice would be to find another job. Eventually it will wear you off, you will become angry and since you can’t take it out at your job you will take it on your wife, kids, family etc. The money will never compensate for all the stress angry-at-work parents bring back home. Memories remain.

Certain things are just so obvious, it’s unreasonable to expect an explanation in any church document. The CCC also doesn’t specify the factors for determining if an animal in front of you is a dog or a cat, but somehow people older than 2 figure it out. Male and female is on that same level of “obviousness.”

Yes - we figure it out by using our eyes. To these same eyes, a lot of trans women look no different from cis women, and a lot of trans men look no different from cis men. Do we still attach more importance to chromosomes in these cases?

Yes, chromosomes are more important. A man wearing a skirt and makeup is just a man wearing a skirt and makeup. If that were not so then womanhood would be reduced to wearing a skirt and makeup. It would be objectification of the highest kind.

What about intersex people, who are born with female and male genitalia? They are not “confused about how God made them”. They were made that way by God. Many dress as only one gender or the other. Do you consider that sinful? Or do you think they should be dressing as both genders to honor how God made them?
