AUSTIN, Texas — A group of over 50 liberal clergy members have signed a letter calling upon the governor of Texas to restore Medicaid funding to the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.
“We write as concerned faith leaders from diverse religious traditions and communities across Texas to protest the exclusion of Planned Parenthood from Medicaid funding in our state,” the open letter to Gov. Greg Abbott reads.
It asserts that access to “reproductive health services is a moral and spiritual good,” and that women should make their own decisions about “reproductive healthcare.”

😦 … :banghead:

Access to drugs or doctors that murder your child in the womb is a moral and spiritual good to these people? Satan must be throwing a party right no seeing as how he’s manage to convince these people that they’re speaking for God when they’re actually speaking on his behalf.

I pray that these people come to see the inexcusable immorality of what they’re promoting and repent of these satanic ideologies.

…Of course this would come from Austin, the black pit of liberality in this state…

Does someone in Austin have a flux capacitor? That statement was pure 1984.

It is gravely evil to murder a child.

If you use a bunch of pretentious “medical terminology” to describe literally murdering a person before they are born, it is still murder. It is an especially evil murder because it is murdering a completely innocent baby.

As another poster points out, this is a deception from the Devil. Literally.

Just to play counter advocate, they could be referring to the other reproductive health services that make up the vast majority of what Planned Parenthood does provide that are not abortion. They never specifically refer to just Planned Parenthood’s abortion services in the article linked.

God’s Church (the one He established and gave the Keys to the Kingdom to) is guided by the Holy Spirit. All Doctrine and Dogma is from God. The Holy Spirit taught us that it is gravely evil to directly cooperate in evil.

So if I know of a place where they murder babies and cut them up and sell the body parts,
but they also do other things that are not pertaining to cutting up literal babies, it is still a grave sin for me to give them money.

If I openly support giving them money, it is also a grave sin.

Grave sins done with full knowledge and deliberate consent land people in literal eternal hellfire. This might come as a surprise to some people, but it is literally possible for the all-merciful and all-love God to put someone in eternal hellfire for murdering innocent babies and cutting them up and selling the body parts. In fact, He said He will. Literally.

Thank God for Holy Confession and services that help heal the pain of past abortions. Never doubt the Mercy of God. He can heal anyone, even someone who was tricked into doing something that evil - or even someone who knew they were murdering a baby. He can literally heal them and make them an instrument of His Holy Will for the Salvation of others. And He is willing to!

The thing is a lot of these girls don’t know they are murdering a baby. They think they are making a “healthcare choice.”

We have Obamacare now, people are required by law to have insurance. They can go to a traditional doctors office. There really is nothing morally licit that PP provides that can’t be had at medical offices all over the state.

Exactly. The folks supporting Obamacare said it will give everyone health care. I’ll take them at their word. Of course these are the same people who would say this in their statement:
Women, not politicians, should be the decision-makers about their reproductive healthcare.
These aren’t very smart people. Their whole issue is that politicians should be in charge of health care by providing funding through the taxation of others. This is anything but an issue of personal freedom and responsibility.

By their own admonition, they do pretty much nothing else. They provide referrals for mammograms, but don’t do them themselves. They do provide STD testing…

Regardless, they could spend every other second of their time not spent murdering children handing meals out to he poor and curing cancer, it still would not excuse their evils.

There was a story about 20 years ago as to how some terrorist organizations provided ultrasounds, but that doesn’t justify their terrorism.

PP and it’s defenders are using “women’s healthcare” as cover fire to distract from abortion. The fact is, they have financial incentives for administering abortions.

Money is fungible. Money given to PP for other services subsidizes the fixed operating costs of the entity and allows them to perform abortions for cheaper. Every penny given to PP helps to support abortion.

Considering the horrific evil they are promoting, exactly WHO are these 50 liberals actually clergy for?

In any case the liberal culture in Austin is taking the state backwards.
I wouldn’t slam this on liberal like you stated.

Because I’m sure you weren’t happy when people called the Colorado Springs shooting conservative extremism.

Just don’t label them, I’m sure theirs some republicans supporting that but are doing so hush hush.

Not really. The government resides there (as does UT!:):):). But the culture of TX is formed hundreds of miles away.

ICXC NIKA
I’m sure that most Texans (and pretty much all who’ve ever spent more than a few minutes in Austin) have heard the slogan “Keep Austin Weird.”

I saw a T-shirt a couple of months ago with the slogan, “Keep Austin 170 Miles Away”

In light of pro-life liberals, my comment would exclude them on that particular issue.

Well, no one ever said that republicans can’t be liberal. That’s one of the criticism of their base.

Somewhere down the line there probably are pro-choice republicans and pro-life democrats.

What vast majority?

According to PP’s own fact sheet (this one’s from 2011), Planned Parenthood helped 7,021 patients with prenatal care and logged only 977 adoption referrals in 2009. Those combined services account for just 2% of their services to pregnant women.

**So what accounts for the other 98%? You guessed it: Abortion. Planned Parenthood performed 332,278 abortions in 2009 — in fact, Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion provider. **

So for every adoption referral, Planned Parenthood performs 340 abortions. They don’t care about helping low-income pregnant women unless those low income women want an abortion!

That’s why I said don’t put this as liberal. Because it can be misleading and labeling.
