I’m tired of the entire “war on women” that the left throw out so I am calling their lives for what they are. The war on unborn children. I want a liberal to explain to me how cold and callous your side is for hating babies. Cue the Jeopardy theme.

In truth, that’s really what it is…a war against the unborn. Some will paint their argument as being about women’s rights and protecting women who are helpless in their plight for a happy life. But the real issue is the rights of ALL humans. So, yes, they need to explain why they don’t believe in protecting the most fragile and helpless humans in the world…the unborn. Pro-lifers are not against women, we are FOR the helpless innocent that cannot voice their own rights.

The “anything goes” side of the argument likes to use fighting words: “war” of women, “bigot,” “intolerance,” “hate.” All I can say is that when people try to use these inflammatory words, they throw up a wall. They say, “I can’t defend my position with good enough logic, so I will throw out these words to make the other person look bad.” Don’t know what the solution is… should we fight back with the same kind of inflammatory words? I don’t know. The only sure answer is to pray for them.

The Texas filibuster situation was deemed a war on women. Further they now say Texas women have spoken (even though the representatives they elected say otherwise).

It’s ridiculous.

I’m in Southern California and a Presbyterian hospital, Hoag, merged with a Catholic Hospital. So they stopped doing abortions. Now they are talking about how damaging this is to women.

It’s disgusting.

I have a cousin I love with all my heart but she’s an Episcopal and a retired nurse who has had a hand in abortions. She doesn’t talk about it much but when she even gets NEAR to anything mentioning it, I feel rage inside of me and try to get away as best I can.

When I see Pelosi laugh at Father Pavone and his ministry…whew…when I see black churches and Christians support Obama…whew…I now truly know that I am a minority and I relish it. I fully expect some sort of physical action against me before my eyes close in death. Or Christ’s Second Coming.

Pelosi…

“Narrow is the gate and few find it”

How clearly that is able to be seen in our times.

How sad when they shall cry out onto the rocks to hide them from the wrath of the Son of God. May He ever keep us and sustain us until that Glorious Day.

I’m a Texas woman and I promise that they don’t speak for me. In fact, it breaks my heart that any woman would want the right to kill their child, much less FIGHT for this right. It is horrible and depraved. 😦

They can’t. In fact, Pelosi couldn’t even truly defend herself when asked what the moral difference was between what Kermit Gosnell did (infanticide) and an in utero abortion taking place at the same gestational age (and this was asked because Gosnell - and other abortionists - considered what he did to be “after birth abortion”). She just stammered, said something about “sacred ground”, and was completely nonsensical. Of course, this is probably because she might not even really believe what she claims to believe regarding abortion - it’s a position that she almost is forced to take due to her party and her constituency.

Unfortunately, in today’s world, pro-abortion definitely should NOT be considered pro-choice because they oppose ANY limits on abortion (odd, because when it comes to regulations of anything else, there seems to be NO regulation they don’t like), support China’s one-child policy, and have tried to force Latin America and Africa to adopt abortion on demand laws for monetary relief] people often claim that ANY woman who is NOT pro-abortion is a traitor to her own sex, and since men are not women, we should not even have an opinion on the morality or legality of abortion.

The Texas filibuster is the perfect example of the war on unborn children. Wendy Davis was filibustering a bill that would make abortions illegal after 20 WEEKS!! 5 MONTHS!!! The current law allows abortions until 24 weeks. The bill also required that abortion providing physicians have hospital admitting privileges- which would mean that they are credentialed and licensed physicians. This bill was written after the late term abortion clinic trial of Gosnell, in order to prevent this from happening in Texas. Now…after the filibuster, liberals are claiming Wendy Davis as a new hero. There is nothing heroic about killing a 24 week baby, or allowing this butchering to occur in an environment unsafe for the mother. Luckily, Gov. Perry has called for another special session and another vote on the bill. There was a strong pro-abortion presence for the vote- and they became an unruly mob. As a devout Catholic living in Austin, I hope we can have a strong prayerful presence for this next upcoming vote.

It is the most heart breaking issue in the world today. Millions of babies being killed in the womb. It is genocide. And in a spirit of selfishness and rebellion…the liberals justify the genocide by calling it “a war on women.” Lord have mercy on us!

Thus saith the Lord: A voice was heard on high of lamentation, of mourning, and weeping, of Rachel weeping for her children, and refusing to be comforted for them, because they are not.
Jer 31:15

For those of us who like to argue ( 😃 ) it helps to know how to reframe the discussion so that 1) we de-fuse their initial argument and 2) encourage them to actually consider our position. This not only takes practice, but reliable information. I’m not a big promoter of putting gin plugs for books, etc…but there IS a great book that has helped me tremendously in this realm. It’s got several hot-button issues that get thrown in Catholic’s faces from liberals lately and explains how to recognize the “positive intention” behind their view, how to address it and reframe it, and explain the Catholic position intelligibly and charitably.

Abortion is a difficult issue to resolve. Liberals want to protect the right of a woman to control her own body while conservatives say they want to protect the life of the unborn baby. It is impossible to reconcile the two views. The only thing can be said is that the liberals gain nothing from their stance (unless they themselves are pregnant with an unwanted baby) while the conservatives who say they love unborn babies so much get the chance to appear generous, goody-goody and even saintly with absolutely no cost to themselves and without actually doing anything.

This issue will only be resolved when the Christ himself returns to the world (many believe it will happen pretty soon) and declares his opinion about the controversy. Possibly both sides will be surprised by his take on the issue.

In the meantime, the cause will definitely be helped if each pro-life person adopts an unwanted baby.

Can you not generalize all liberals as being pro-choice/pro-abortion/whatever? You can be a moderate and be pro-abortion. You can be a Republican and be pro-abortion. You could even be the bishop of a major diocese and be pro-abortion. Sadly, they come in all shapes and sizes and affiliations.

It is not really impossible to reconcile the two views. A woman has a right to control her own body, and chooses whether or not to engage in activity designed to create a baby. At that point, another person exists and also has the right to be protected.
Sort of like an alcoholic who chooses to drink, well and good. When he gets into a car accident, we hold him responsible for his choice and its results.
I’ve adopted two. Pro-life people are not really sitting on their hands doing nothing.

I really admire your dedication to children, after all they are God’s children - congratulations, i wish there were more like you.

I am personally very torn by this issue. I think every effort must be made to save the lives of these unborn children - it is our duty as humans to do so in the service of God. But I also don’t see how we can demand that a woman should carry a baby to term against her wishes - after all, this country was built on the principles of personal liberty and autonomy - that is what our founding fathers advocated from the very beginning.

After a lot of thought, I think the answer (until the actual return of the Christ) is good old American innovation and technology. We should get Congress to fund a project (maybe through the NIH) to enable new transplant technology, so that we can safely transplant these unborn fetuses from unwilling mothers to perfectly willing pro-life women. In these days of lung, heart, liver and even face transplant, I am sure it is eminently doable - the only requirement being funding (and a few billion dollars is nothing when the lives of thousands of unborn children are at stake).

I would suggest going further - it should be technically possible to transplant these fetuses even into men provided with artificial wombs (after all, all that the fetuses need is nutrition through the blood stream, nothing special that men don’t have). I am sure someone like Governor Perry would be anxious and willing to give a few months of his life to carry an unwanted baby to term (he is practically brimming with love for the unborn).

This is a far better solution than imposing our values on others - I am sure there are plenty of pro-life surrogate mothers and fathers available in this country - even on this forum, who would be eager to donate their time and bodies for saving the lives of unborn children,

Or maybe we can just let people be accountable for their choices and expect them to treat ALL humans with dignity…including unborn infants?

This is a far better solution than imposing our values on others…
Like imposing our values on how WE want to live life on to those infants who had no choice in whether or not to be conceived?? Or is it okay for SOME humans (adults who made a choice) to impose their values on others (infants who had no choice)…as long as those same humans don’t feel like others’ values are being imposed on them?

There’s a war on unborn children and women are collateral. Ten out of ten abortions end in death.
