The reason I am asking is because my Mom has alzheimers, but is still pretty lucid. She has been thinking a lot about death. My dad died a few years ago and she really misses him. She’s worried he won’t know her.
I realize we can’t know what heaven is like because nothing on earth compares to it. But, that doesn’t mean we don’t have anything to say about it. That would be like saying, well, we can’t say anything about God or know anything about Him because He’s just too different from us. God has revealed some things about heaven in Scripture and to saints. I’m just looking for some more resources to get my own mind straight on the subject.
The CCC doesn’t say too much, except that Heaven is union with God. There is also a beautiful quote from St Ignatius.
I was just hoping I might get more info, because I now find the subject quite fascinating. I’m certain there must be some good theologians who have expounded on what heaven might be like…
