Yes, if given by those in charismatic prayer groups who are obedient to their parish priests and their bishop.

Anyone done them?
Yes but not impressed. The leader of the group told everyone that exorcisms could only be performed by those speaking in tongues because that was the only way to talk to the Holy Spirit. He said nobody could talk to the Holy Spirit in their own language.
Absolute nonsense. They obviously had no clue about the Vatican exorcists or about much else. A few days later I told my priest and he was horrified.

I do not trust these charismatic groups.

Sounds like he was rather misinformed…such can happen in any local person or place of all sorts of groups and movements. It can happen.

Such is not characteristic of the Charismatic Movement in the Church per se (which has great approval in the Church).

Don’t tar them all with the same brush. I’ve heard equally disturbing “theology” from nuns, priests, and RCIA instructors.

Obviously that leader of the group was not in obedience to his/her priest and bishop.

I have found that to be true as well. There is much confusion. The Church needs much prayer and fasting as well. (according to one’s health and ability of course re: the fasting.)
