I think the little kitten thought the spider plant was a bird with ruffled feathers and he looked up to you and gave a cute --meow!

That cat sounds very curmudgeonly to me. My cat started purring in response and swiveling his head to try to locate the sound. (The speakers are on my computer desk and he is on his cushion next to me.)
