Yep, those are K-8’s. They are more cost effective than using K-9’s. They don’t eat as much, and their little Kevlar vests cost way less. And K-8’s can be more lethal. Unlike K-9’s, the K-8’s can use their bite, teeth, AND their claws.

It is a commentary on how tough older cell phones were versus how fragile smartphones are. I swear, you could drop a smartphone from 2 feet and something (likely the screen) on it will break.
 
In high school, (the time of the indestructible nokia 3310), I’ve seen schoolmates taking out the battery and use the rest of the phone to play soccer between two opposite doors in the hallway. Then when the class continued, they put the phone back together and that was that.
