True story, a visitor threw her coat over my usual place for Daily Mass and my first reaction was “But where am I supposed to sit??” Then I realized there had to be a dozen empty seats I could choose from 😂

Maybe you should sit somewhere you don’t like for lent. 😛
 
This is a real issue for my 91-year-old mother! She is set in her ways, as many of us increasingly get as we age. She has “her pew” in church where she is most comfortable and best able to hear the Mass and receive Communion. We get to church a half hour early to ensure she gets her pew, but even then, someone sometimes beats us to it. We then have to adapt, not so easy for a nonagenarian. 🙂
