When I was at Iowa State, we were lucky to get one day a year that a friend and I could take off to brew beer. S having arranged it . . . there was a blizzard.
But I brew in a 15 gallon keg on a 280kbtu reinforced cajun cooker. So it was -20 or some such with wind chill; we just turned it up and went inside.
The wrought iron holding the keg app was glowing red for a few inches down . . . but we made our beer!
