Life of St Thomas Aquinas?

I was just enrolled in the Angelic Warfare Confraternity, and would like to learn about the life of St. Thomas now that I am under his patronage. Can anyone recommend a biography? There are a huge number of books on Thomism but it is hard to find an actual book about his life.

I am familiar with the one by Mary Fabyan Windeatt, but I am looking for one aimed at adults. I have a copy of Chesterton’s book on Thomas, but that also is more an interpretation and filters its subject through the author’s sensibility. I love Chesterton, but that’s not what I am looking for right now.

I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks.
 
I can recommend the Torrell book. I’ve not read the other, but it looks good. I might read it myself if I ever get caught up on my reading.
 
Chesterton’s biography of St. Thomas is a good read!
 
Thank you to everyone who posted suggestions. I’ve just discovered a recently published book by Kevin Vost titled “Hounds of the Lord: Great Dominican Saints Every Catholic Should Know”. It includes profiles of St. Dominic, St. Albert the Great, St. Thomas Aquinas and a number of others - including some saints who were lay people in the Dominican Third Order, such as St. Catherine of Siena. I am going to get this one!

Just a headsup: littlestsouls2’s suggestion is actually free online, as G.K Chesterton’s books have not had their copyrights renewed since his death. Not only that, but G.K.'s writings are all masterpieces of English literature, and I thoroughly love them.
