Life Offering prayer

I’ve been thinking about doing the life offering. one of the promises attached to it is that the souls of one’s relatives in purgatory will be delivered on the day the person makes it.

if after making it, I still continue to pray for departed relatives, does that mean I don’t believe the promises attached to it? After all, the faithful is not required to believe in it.
 
i’ve got the same life offering prayer that you are talking about…(i have a leaflet and a book)…

of course you can still pray for the holy souls in purgatory …your deceased family and friends and everyone else who is in purgatory…

it dosen’t mean that you don’t believe the promises if you do pray…if those for whom you pray are not in purgatory then god will apply your prayers to help some other souls in purgatory…
