I think Jeff Cavins left to move closer to his family and I doubt he would want to come back, it was stressful to commute.

Where did the year come from as far as the leave of absence? No time was mentioned in their announcements? That seems like the time it would take to see about getting proper papers to leave, to “discern” for a year seems odd.

Father Mark seems a bit uncomfortable with being the head guy, instead of the “side kick”, but I like him. Fr. Anthony has a pleasant personality, but they don’t have an abundance of friars. Maybe a balance of a friar and a lay person is better.

That would be great, but he just retired from the limelight to write and do what he enjoys most…be alone in his hermitage and be with God, his dogs and nature.

I liked it when Jeff Cavins hosted it. I wish they’d have him back!

Jesse Romero would be good. Jason & Crystalina are young and fresh and closer to the target audience. More “old priests” aren’t the answer.

Re C’s clothing–nothing is wrong with her body. More prudent choices could be made so that the visual is not counter to their message. I noticed that right off the bat when Pure Life started airing. (And I’m female. And busty. And straight. And have to dress carefully. And that doesn’t mean a burqa.)

I’m disappointed in Father but it just goes to show, priests are human too and no one is perfect. There but for the grace of God go I. He is on my prayer list, God’s will be done.

Jeff is really busy doing other things:

Jeff Cavins and his wife Emily reside in Minnesota with their three daughters, Carly, Jacqueline, and Antonia.
I doubt highly he would want to go to Alabama except to visit.

I still think, for what it’s worth, 1 Friar and another lay person who’s closer to the “college age” crowd is best. The Friar can rotate if that helps or maybe it can be a brother and a priest.
But no one really cares what we think…the powers that be will do what they want. : )

Why couldn’t they set up a remote studio in MN for Jeff Cavins like they do in NY for Fr. Groeschel?

I suppose they could but it could be $$ and Father Groechel probably uses something that was already there. Either way, the desire isn’t there, he wanted to move on…if they could do that they would have told him when he said he was tired of commuting.

I know a great priest in the Chicago area who works in the Chancery who would make a GREAT replacement on Life on the Rock! And he’s young too.
