Might I remind you that our youth may only be 3% of our current population, they are in fact 100% of our future.Baby Boomer who are now almost reach their retirement age are the greatest group in population. Not youth.
Would you please stop posting pictures to “prove” your point, since they prove nothing. Why go to Life Teen when you can attend this?
That’s not the point at all. The Church sets the rules, the church defines the role of the priest on the altar and the people in their seats. As has been writte here, the Church is finally cracking down on the LifeTeen abuses.Don’t you think Jesus would invite the children and in fact all of us to the sanctuary if He came back today and celebrated the mass.
The boat has sailed, and you’re not on board. You get your kids interested in church by really educating them. Not by appealing to their “feelings”. The Church does not offer safety, security, entertainment nor even coffee and donuts. In fact it really “offers” nothing. The Real Presence of Christ demands our attention, our worship. We are the ones who need to be “offering”. That should be the goal. Nothing else.“Why can’t I get my kids more interested in church?” Well, there is a simple solution, provide a place for them to feel safe, secure, wanted, and most of all, loved! That is the entire goal of the Life Teen Mass. Get a clue!
You know, I respect your choice to attend the type of mass you feel the most comfortable at. And I can even say that I see absolute beauty in the Latin Mass. The point is, is that I won’t lower myself to insult a person for attending the mass of there choice. I will not insult them or the mass itself. Is one better than the other? Only to the individual who is attending, and thank God for the Life Teen Mass where thousands of teenagers go every weekend, who might otherwise not go at all.:dancing:This is for you Melman, The Holy Sacrifice of Calvary not some rock and roll teen worship:
Life Teen will never match this.
That is incorrect.Might I remind you that our youth may only be 3% of our current population, they are in fact 100% of our future.![]()
Another ********** **********.If you don’t agree with the Life Teen Mass DON’T GO!!!:banghead:
Youthful *************.There are plenty of us who don’t agree with your points of view. Wow, imagine that, the freedom to have my own point of view! It is opinions like your that are exactly like that of many fundamentalists. Thoughts like “It’s our way or the highway.” I am glad I have the freedom to choose the way I worship my God and that I am not forced to conform to some rigid set of rules. I have been to many Life Teen masses and the ones I have gone to have been wonderful. I have never seen more reverance and respect shown towards Jesus by young people than by the ones who attend this mass regularly. I have never observed any liturgical abuses. Maybe there are some parishes who cross the line, and I agree that they need to be fixed, but don’t just assume they all cross the line. As far as the teens being invited up to the sanctuary for the Eucharistic celebration, didn’t a certain Jewish Carpenter say to let the children come? You hard nose consertatives want to bottle Jesus up and put Him in a place where the faithful can only look at Him. Don’t you think Jesus would invite the children and in fact all of us to the sanctuary if He came back today and celebrated the mass. I happen to think He would want nothing more than to be as close as possible to his Church while sharing the blessed Sacrament with them. Well, when that day comes I know I won’t be afraid to run up and wrap my arms around Him. What are you going to do? Maybe you will just kneel the whole time and miss all the excitement. I get so sick and tired of hearing adults say, “Why can’t I get my kids more interested in church?”Well, there is a simple solution, provide a place for them to feel safe, secure, wanted, and most of all, loved!
That is the entire goal of the Life Teen Mass. Get a clue!
It is not matter of litugical preference, etc, it is respect for God. I am not insulting anyone, it is not the Teens fault if they are ignorant or underdress for Mass, it is the people in charge who are at fault. You know, I respect your choice to attend the type of mass you feel the most comfortable at. And I can even say that I see absolute beauty in the Latin Mass. The point is, is that I won’t lower myself to insult a person for attending the mass of there choice. No one said anything about anything being governed by anything. My statement simply said that our youth is 100% of our future and because of this, we as adults need to nurture them into the adults they need to be in order to run this country. Might I remind you that the same youths you are insulting with your comments will someday be in charge of this great nation and will be making decisions that will affect all the aging Baby Boomers. That is incorrect.
USA is govern by the interest of Baby Bommers. From the politic to economics. One could go on and on and on about this.
Your right I am young. A whopping 39 years old. And as a father of three, I am very concerned about age groups other thatn my own. Apparently by the tone of you arguments, you are the one who is only concerned with your own age groups. Afterall, aren’t you the one who is making the statements about everything being governed by, and for the baby boomers? You are probabaly young and don’t know what’s going on in the other age group, you only concern with your age group.
Well, that’s really nice, let’s just throw a personal insult in there as well.Another ********** **********.
Another personal insult. Does that make you feel better?Youthful *************.
As far as I know we are all desciples of Christ, men and women. As far as there only being eleven, who do you think took the picture? The twelth one. What a great sense of humor you have. Oh sorry, there goes that emotion thing again. I’ll have to work on that.Oh yeah, look at the reverence and modesty displayed during the Life Teen Mass and why were there women having their feet washed when 12 people are suppose to represent the apostles?
First off, 12 apostles, apostles are men.As far as I know we are all desciples of Christ, men and women. As far as there only being eleven, who do you think took the picture? The twelth one. What a great sense of humor you have. Oh sorry, there goes that emotion thing again. I’ll have to work on that.
It has been said that humans are characterized as having various sets of duel personality traits - one of those pairs of traits are Thinking and Feeling. As part of our baptismal call to evangelization, we should reach out to the whole person, teaching them and securing them in the faith as well as facilitating positive emotional and spiritual prayer experiances. Frequently, Religous Education and Youth Ministry programs fall off of the other side of the horse by offering only social and prayer experiences with no catechecital substance or by offering only catechetical lessons with no substantial prayer or social times. Nothing else.
I respect your opinion. It’s cool with me. As for myself, I’ve never been to a Tridentine Mass, although I love the special masses like the Easter Vigil and Holy Thursday mass, where the prayers are sung. (at our church we have a wooden altar and then a large stone altar - the wooden altar is closer to the congregation and lower. We use the High Altar for the special services)I realize I do not speak for most teenagers although I am one, but i do not like the Life Teen Mass. I was never a fan of contemporary music (by contemporary I mean anything in the past 60 years). I love the old liturgy, I love the Tridentine Mass, although i do recongnize the Novus Ordo Mass as legitimate. Life Teen Mass to me seemed just… not there…
